As winter settles in, you might be thinking you have plenty of time to get to those cold winter projects around the house, with Lowe’s being your go-to supplier for all the necessary equipment. However, if you are thinking that, surely others have already gotten a jump start on their Lowe’s shopping.
“Lowe’s frequently finds increased demand for these seasonal necessities, especially if predictions worsen,” pointed out Albert Varkki, a retail and shopping expert who co-founded Von-Baer. “Buying now assures availability and may lock in pre-holiday sales pricing. Don’t wait until the shelves are bare — plan ahead of time and stock up on these essentials to keep warm and prepared this winter.”
With no time to delay, here are three items to buy at Lowe’s before they sell out this winter.
Scotts Turf Builder Winterguard
- Price: $28.98 (10-lb. bag)
You might have put away your lawn mower and trimmer for the season, but there is still plenty of work to be done on your grass before winter really ramps up. Head to Lowe’s now to get your lawn prepped for a healthy sprouting next spring.
“If you can see your grass, it’s not too late to get some winter fertilizer on your lawn,” commented Melanie Musson, retail finance expert with InsuranceProviders.com. “Once it’s covered with snow, fertilizer to protect it from winter’s harshness will be too late.”
EMSCO GROUP 24-in Poly Snow Shovel with 50-in Poly Handle
- Price: $50.98
“When a big snowstorm is in the forecast, it’s often too late to find a snow shovel. So, check your shovels now to see if they’re in good condition. If not, check out this shovel at Lowe’s,” Musson recommended.
If you get snowed in, you might be stuck in your home for a while, which could lead to serious emergencies. Musson offered that if you have not tried using a snow pusher shovel, it might be a good idea to look into one at Lowe’s before the ground is blanketed in white.
“They’re great for powdery snow and work like a mini snowplow,” described Musson. “This design helps absorb bumps so cracks in the sidewalk won’t jar your body as strongly as a rigid design would.”
National Plant Network Fresh Christmas Amaryllis Bulb
- Price: $56.99 (3-pack)
This amaryllis bulb is coated in wax and contains everything it needs to grow and bloom, according to Musson, who called it “foolproof.”
“There’s no need to water it, put it in dirt, or anything,” Musson went on to explain. “Amaryllis flowers are stunning and add beauty and life in the midst of winter.”
Musson cautioned shoppers that once Lowe’s sells out of these, you won’t be able to find them again until next year’s holiday season.
