Flying on an airplane for your next vacation or trip? Don’t depart without making a Walmart run first. The big-box retailer has tons of travel-size items available to shop that other retailers and warehouse clubs don’t have in stock. Each item we found costs less than $4 to fit your budget and all are in TSA-approved sizes to perfectly fit into your carry-on at the checkpoint.
GOBankingRates carefully reviewed the travel-size items for sale and found 11 essentials that give you the most bang for your buck. Keep reading to find out which 11 items you should buy for your carry-on luggage.
Reach Oral Care Travel Kit
- Price:Â $2.12
Is it more cost-effective to buy travel-size toothpaste and a toothbrush together in a set or separately? To determine the answer, GOBankingRates compared the total cost of the Reach oral care travel kit to Crest mini toothpaste (97 cents) and the Reach toothbrush ($1.12) sold separately at Walmart.
Shoppers that purchase the Crest toothpaste and Reach toothbrush together spend $2.09. This is about three cents less than the cost of the Reach oral care travel kit and sans the carrying pouch that comes with the oral care travel kit. If you’re worried about not being able to find these specific toothpaste and toothbrush brands to save money, shop the kit and rest easy knowing you only spent $2.12 altogether.
Listerine Cool Mint Antiseptic Mouthwash
- Price: $1.97
We don’t always see travel-size mouthwash for sale at retailers so travelers will want to add Listerine cool mint mouthwash to their Walmart shopping cart.Â
This 3.2-ounce size meets the TSA liquids rule and is an ideal alternative for passengers that can’t necessarily chew gum to freshen breath before their arrival.
Carmex Classic Medicated Lip Balm
Jergens Ultra-Healing Hand and Body Lotion
- Price: $1.62
Keep hands moisturized with a travel-size bottle of Jergens hand and body lotion. At $1.62 per container, this lotion includes vitamins C, E and B5 to help heal dry skin no matter how short or long your flight is.
Opti-Free Alcon PureMoist Solution Trial Kit
- Price:Â $3.12
If you’ve ever worn contact lenses, you know firsthand how hard it can be to find a travel-size solution set, much less at a cheap price.
For $3.12, this Opti-Free kit includes a 2-fluid-ounce bottle of contact solution and a lens case to take contacts out for better rest while traveling.
Secret Invisible Solid Deodorant Stick
- Price: $1.54
Stay fresh no matter how long your flight is with Secret invisible deodorant. At 0.5 ounces, it won’t take up much room in your carry-on. The $1.54 price tag won’t eat up too much of your travel budget either.
Gillette Antiperspirant Deodorant
- Price:Â $2.12
Did you know Gillette deodorant for men provides 72 hours of sweat protection? Add one of these 0.5-ounce deodorant sticks to your Walmart shopping cart and you’ll be covered all throughout your flight.
Tylenol Extra-Strength Caplets
- Price: $2.23
Swap out buying a bigger bottle of aspirin in favor of grabbing a tube of Tylenol for $2.23. You’ll save a little more money that way and won’t have to worry about how to make room for the aspirin in your carry-on since the tubes are so compact.
Pepto Bismol (Liquid)
Banana Boat Sunscreen Lotion (SPF 30)
- Price:Â $1.52
From the departure gate to arrivals, protect skin during your air travels with a tube of Banana Boat sunscreen. Each sunscreen is SPF 30 and is carry-on approved just 1 fluid ounce.
Wet Ones Antibacterial Hand Wipes
- Price:Â $1.97
From wiping hands after eating a snack to cleaning off your seat before sitting down, a sleeve of Wet Ones hand wipes is a must-buy at Walmart.Â
We even compared the cost of getting a 20-wipe package of Wet Ones at Walmart compared to Five Below and Walmart emerged as the cheaper choice. At Five Below, it costs $3 to buy the same scent and wipe count of Wet Ones sold at Walmart.
