If you’re looking to save money on back-to-school supplies, you might be tempted to make Dollar Tree your first stop. But what if we said you can score even lower prices at Target? Yes, Target.
Your favorite place to window shop now carries less expensive items, making it a perfect spot to pick up the essentials. Here are some back-to-school essentials to pick up next time you’re there.
Crayons
Crayola is a brand everyone knows and loves, so it’s on our list of back-to-school supply must-haves. You can grab a pack of Crayola Kids Crayons, 24-count for $0.50 instead of their regular price of $1.49.
Target also has its own brand of arts and crafts supplies affectionately known as Mondo Llama, which parents should check out this year. Their Crayons Classic Colors, 24-count is only $0.25. You could technically grab five packs for the same price as one pack from Dollar Tree and be stocked up for the year, too.
Markers
No student should have crayons without markers and luckily, Target has you covered there too.
At Target, the 10-count of Crayola Markers Broad Line Classic is on sale for $0.99, which is almost two dollars cheaper than their regular retail price of $2.59. Mondo Llama’s 10-count of Washable Markers Broad Tip Classic Colors are even cheaper at $0.50 instead of their regular price of $2.25.
Colored Pencils
If your kids are older, they may prefer colored pencils to markers and crayons. Crayola’s 12-count of Kids Pre-Sharpened Colored Pencils are on sale for only $0.99, and the 12-count Colored Pencil pack from Mondo Llama is $0.50.
Just like the other Mondo Llama products, you could easily snag a few boxes to last the whole year as well as some to use at home.
Pencils & More
It’s easy to find cheap pencils, but ones that are cheap and of good quality may be a bit harder to locate. That’s why this 24-pack of #2 Wood Pencils is perfectly priced at $0.99. Not only are these pencils cheap, but there’s enough in this pack to last at least through the semester.
Grabbing some erasers while you’re shopping couldn’t hurt, especially if your kids are practicing their numbers and letters for the first time. Target offers both Cap Erasers in a 25-count and Smudge-Free Erasers in a pack of 2 from their up&up line for $0.49 each.
Target also has the BIC 10-pack Xtra Life Ballpoint Pens in Medium Tip Black ink for $1.29. Okay, so they are a couple of cents more than the pens at the Dollar Tree, but these pens are great quality and also come in blue and red!
To keep everything in order, don’t forget to grab this Sterlite Pencil Box on sale for $0.99, regularly priced at $5.99.
Glue, Paper and Folders
Glue is a must-have for all grades. Whether it’s arts and crafts or poster board presentations, you can’t go wrong with Elmer’s 2-pack Washable School Glue Sticks on sale for $0.50 instead of its regular price of $1.39. If you need something a little more flexible, grab the 4-ounce Washable School Glue from up&up for $0.25.
For paper, check out their collection of Unison notebooks. Unison offers a Graph Ruled Solid Composition Notebook in black for $0.50. If you prefer more of a spiral, Target also offers a College Ruled 1-Subject Spiral Notebook from their up&up line for $0.99.
Don’t forget the sticky notes either! Target has Post-it brand 3″ x 3″ Sticky Notes (of 90 Sheets per pad) for only $1.00. Dollar Tree doesn’t have that deal.
And to keep all of that paper organized, don’t forget to snag some of the 2-Pocket Plastic Folders and Plastic Letter Index Dividers to help your loved one keep track of all the notes from their different classes and projects.
Tips To Save More on Back-To-School Shopping
There are even more ways to save at Target when it comes to not only your back-to-school shopping but your everyday shopping too.
