Kohl’s is a shopper’s dream. It has everything you might expect to find in a department store, including clothing, shoes, jewelry, home goods and great customer service. It also has a great senior citizen discount.

Whether it’s in the Kohl’s store or on the Kohl’s app, this mega-retailer has frequent sales, so it’s not unusual to walk in and find many items at special discounted prices. With more than 1,100 stores in 49 states, chances are there’s a Kohl’s within driving distance of your home. And if you’re a senior, it is better to shop in-store to take advantage of the discount, as that can only be applied in-person.

While Kohl’s offers many ways to save, including Kohl’s coupons, Kohl’s Cash and a loyalty program, seniors can take advantage of 15% off their purchases every Wednesday. Here’s a closer look at what offers the senior discount has for seniors and retirees.

Quick Take: What Is the Kohl’s Senior Discount?

Kohl’s senior discount for qualifying purchases is available to clients ages 60 and older. To get the discount, you may need to provide the sales associate with age verification, like a driver’s license. Savings are only available in-store — not online. 

You can combine the Kohl’s senior discount with dollar-off coupons and Kohl’s Cash. However, you can’t use it with other percentage-off coupons, so do the math to determine if a current sale saves you more than deducting the senior discount off the original price.

Coupon-eligible brands include Serta, Madison Park, Hotel Suite, Keurig, American Tourister, Food Network and many others. If you’re unsure whether you can use the senior discount on an item, check with a store associate.

Coupon Exclusions for the Discount

The Kohl’s senior discount can’t be used for price adjustments, taxes or gift cards. You also can’t use it to make payments on a Kohl’s credit card, to reduce shipping and handling costs or on Kohl’s Cares’ causes or charitable items.

Coupon-ineligible brands, including Sephora and others, won’t qualify for the Kohl’s senior discount. The Kohl’s senior discount also can’t be used to purchase items identified in-store as ineligible for coupon savings.
