6 Dollar Tree Items You Should Buy in Summer To Maximize Savings

It pays to shop at Dollar Tree if you want to save money throughout the year, but the summer months come with bigger savings than shoppers may realize. Many of these items, like flip-flops and even travel-sized products, are much cheaper to buy in summer than they would be to pick up from big-box retailers. 

GOBankingRates combed through the Dollar Tree website and pulled the top eight items that are worth buying in summer for the biggest possible savings. See which eight buys give you the most bang for your buck.

Traveling this summer and stocking up on your carry-on essentials? It’s best to shop for Colgate optic white toothpaste in its travel-size version at Dollar Tree. 

The same brand of toothpaste in a trial size retails for $2.69 at Target, more than double Dollar Tree’s cost.

Few retailers can beat out Dollar Tree’s dirt cheap pricing on ladies’ flip-flops this summer. Each pair comes in an assortment of tropical prints and is comfortable to wear to the pool, to the beach or on a cruise.

Drink pitchers, especially those with summer prints, can easily cost $10 or more at competing retailers. It’s worth it to pick up a plastic summer pitcher or two from Dollar Tree at this low pricing.

GOBankingRates did a little sleuthing online and found similar canteens for sale on Amazon for a whopping $13.99 each. If you bought both fruit designs at Dollar Tree, your total spend would be far less than what it is on Amazon.
