Retirees who are tempted to buy more expensive summer-related items should check out what Aldi has to offer this summer. Not only did the grocer slash prices on more than 400 items for the season, but it also has some surprisingly inexpensive dupes for some items.
Here are four Aldi items that retirees should buy for summer.
Kirkton House Luxe Vintage Scented Candles
- Price: $8.99
Hailed as dupes for the $38 Voluspa candles, these Kirkton House luxe vintage scented candles are contained in embossed, jewel-toned jars that look very similar to the much more expensive Voluspa versions. They were released July 9 and won’t last long, according to Better Homes & Gardens. Choose from three scents: Santorini citrus, santal mystique and cashmere coconut bliss.
Baby Back Ribs
- Price: $3.49 per pound
Aldi slashed prices on more than 400 items this summer, per Better Homes & Gardens, including its baby back ribs. A package of bone-in baby back ribs at the discount grocer is selling for $3.49 per pound, which is cheaper than the price of this grilling favorite at other stores. For example, Albertsons is selling pork loin back ribs for approximately $5 per pound.
Sundae Shoppe Mini Ice Cream Cones
- Price: $5.95
Everything is expensive, including frozen dessert treats. That’s why Aldi’s Sundae Shoppe mini ice cream cones are a great buy for retirees on a budget. The box holds 10 mini sugar cones topped with chocolate-covered vanilla ice cream, which makes for a sweet snack at about $0.60 each.Â
Popz Prebiotic Soda
- Price: $1.65
Retirees who have wanted to try gut-supporting prebiotic sodas might have balked at the high price tag. However, Aldi is offering a reduced price of only $1.49 each on its Popz prebiotic soda. Available flavors include cherry lime, raspberry rose, lemon lime and strawberry lemon.
