Typically, when consumers think of Walmart, saving money comes to mind. Walmart offers some of the best prices on groceries, home products and appliances among major retailers. In fact, a recent AARP article compared groceries at Aldi, Target and Walmart, and Walmart’s generic brands were among the most affordable.
However, that doesn’t mean Walmart doesn’t carry some costly items too. Here are three expensive appliances available at Walmart. While the major buys below might not be necessary for all homeowners, having them can certainly make life a little better — if they turn out to be worth the cost.
12-Person Swim Spa
One of the Canadian Spa Company’s most prestigious hot tubs, this 13-foot, 12-person swim spa has 51 stainless steel jets. Walmart sells it for just over $19,000, making it one of the most expensive items on the retailer’s website.
Whether or not this price tag is worth it depends on a homeowner’s goals. For example, if they don’t want to spend six figures to install a pool, this hot tub is large enough to double as a plunge pool. However, if they simply want to create a backyard oasis, there are many other hot tubs that are smaller and less than half the price.
While deals may be had, your final cost will likely be even greater than the price tag. One reviewer noted that the price fluctuates online regularly and that homeowners may incur additional expenses when installing the hot tub. However, they believed the price to be worthwhile.

Kucht Dual Fuel Range
This 36-inch Kucht dual-fuel range has a convection oven with top and bottom bake elements plus a broiler, and an oven door that’s interchangeable in nine different colors. At $4,315, it’s priced a little high for a Walmart oven, so consumers should compare this price at several comparable retailers — including Home Depot, Lowe’s and more — before purchasing it. Similar versions of this range cost less without the option to use both propane gas and electric power, a feature unlikely to be useful for most households.
Customers give this range 4.5/5 stars out of nearly 600 reviews, so many people are very satisfied with it. However, if you aren’t someone who has always dreamed of having a professional-level range, there are many other options to consider for about $1,000 less.

Westinghouse Home Generator
Having a home generator can be extremely helpful for homeowners living in areas prone to power outages or natural disasters. This Dual Fuel Home Backup Portable Generator from Westinghouse is just under $1,400. It comes with 12,500 peak watts and multiple outlets that consumers can use for a home or RV.
While a home generator won’t be a worthwhile purchase for all homeowners, it certainly helps those who frequently deal with power issues. The Westinghouse generator mentioned here has nearly 23,000 reviews on Walmart, totalling 4.8 stars. Obviously, it’s worth it to most people who bought it.
