Looking to score the best deals on Amazon? There’s a strategy to it that involves buying items on specific days throughout the month.

To find out when those magic days are, GOBankingRates reached out to consumer experts. Read on to discover how to save money on your next Amazon haul

First Week of the Month

To understand the best times to get deals on Amazon items, you have to think like an Amazon seller. Cord Thomas, president and COO of SkyRun, said the first week of the month is when sellers clear out their remaining inventory to meet their monthly targets, so you’re likely to find lower prices.

“The most beneficial shopping periods occur during the first week of each month because budgets refresh and stores offer special promotions that align with employee payment schedules, and at the end of the month when stores reduce prices to make room for incoming stock,” according to Thomas.

Kyle James, the founder of Rather-Be-Shopping.com, agreed, saying digital coupons and brand promos tend to refresh during the first three days of the month.

“Stack those with ‘Today’s Deals’ and you’ll often beat mid-month pricing,” James said.

Five Days Before Your Subscribe & Save Delivery Date

If you subscribe to items via Subscribe & Save on Amazon, James said it’s worth checking out if those items get even cheaper in the days before they’re sent to you. You can then stack this coupon on top of the savings you’re already getting by subscribing.

“If the coupon isn’t showing, I like to push the delivery out a few days and re-check. I can almost always find a coupon to stack on to my S&S savings,” he noted.

Midweek

Even if it’s not the first week of the month, Mike Bowman, the technical product manager and director of digital marketing at Patio Productions, said you can score good deals by shopping on a Tuesday or a Wednesday of any week.

“The price and promotion is normally less and more frequent during these days as the sellers attempt to attract shoppers on days when there are few people around,” Bowman said. “Due to the availability of more sellers, you can even get better deals on most things.”

Pre-Holiday

Of course there will be Black Friday sales, but there are even more sales in the weeks leading up to Christmas. According to Bowman, these are the sales that might be even more appealing.

“Early holiday deals are available in October to plan ahead of the crowd of people during the Black Friday,” Bowman recommended.
