Walmart’s in-house brands, like Great Value and Equate, offer budget-friendly alternatives to name-brand staples that shoppers use regularly. Here’s a list of Walmart-brand items retirees should stock up on right now.

Great Value Disinfecting Wipes

  • Price: $11.98

It’s cold and flu season, which means taking steps to make sure you aren’t bringing germs into your home. Walmart sells disinfectant wipes in a pack of four for a total of 300 wipes in lemon, fresh and orange scents. According to Walmart, it kills 99.9% of bacteria in only 15 seconds. Wipe down kitchen and bathroom counters, doorknobs, phones, keyboards and other hard, non-porous surfaces around your house.

Equate XL Electric Heating Pad

  • Price: $24.96

If you don’t already have a heating pad, now is the time to get one. According to the University of Virginia, an electric heating pad uses one-tenth as much energy as a space heater, which can help you save money on your utility bills this winter. This Equate XL electric heating pad comes with six heat settings and an auto shut-off feature, and it’s machine-washable. 

Equate Daytime and Nighttime Cold and Flu Relief Softgels

Another cold and flu season household staple. Equate Allergy Relief

It’s not quite allergy season yet, but you’ll want to grab some of these Equate allergy relief tablets before spring arrives. According to the brand, these tablets provide 24-hour temporary relief from symptoms from things like hay fever and upper respiratory allergies.
