Maybe you aren’t ready to leave the comfy, cozy den of winter or are just dreading the spring cleaning that is on your to-do list in a couple of weeks. Both aren’t good reasons to not go to Costco and take advantage of some truly fantastic deals they currently have on sale before the warmer months arrive.

“From a retail strategy perspective, late winter at Costco creates unique value opportunities because of how they manage seasonal inventory transitions,” shared Brandon Warren, chief growth officer at The Barcode Group. “Unlike many other retailers, Costco slashes prices aggressively to clear out goods for new spring wares.”

Warren went on to describe how Costco orders inventory for every season eight to 12 weeks in advance.

“While you may still have winter on the brain and see sales of wintry goods, the retailer’s buying team is out there stocking new products in preparation for spring,” he noted.

With that in mind, here are five best Costco deals to take advantage of before spring.

Winter Clothing

According to Warren, some notable categories at Costco that traditionally have deep discounts late winter are cold-weather fashion and outerwear. So while you might be looking forward to packing up your winter coats for the season, it’s never too early to plan for the next winter and take advantage of Costco’s marked down stock.

“Luxury labels like Eddie Bauer and Weatherproof are marked down 30% to 40% to clear room for spring inventory,” Warren explained.

Holiday Gifts

You might be breathing a sigh of relief that the holiday season is in the rear view, but Warren pointed out that Costco can be your place to shop very early for gifts of Christmases yet to come.

Warren highlighted that, “[G]ourmet food gift sets and high-end chocolates go on sale at the end of February, hitting up to 50% off.”

Electronic Bundles

Holiday weekend sales at Costco can get you some amazing prices on electronics, especially if you don’t mind them being a few years old and just a tad out of date.

Warren highlighted that the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a great deal day at Costco for 2017 TVs and laptops, as the manufacturers try to clear older inventory ahead of new models.

Outdoor Storage

Running out of room in your house to put all your things? Head to Costco and start to plan to store some of your stuff outside with these discounted products and features currently on sale.

“Any outdoor storage including sheds and garage storage systems fall further in price in January/February ahead of the spring buying season,” Warren pointed out.

Panty Staples

You always need to make sure you have the basics stocked and ready for any cooking job that might come your way. Why not head to Costco to refill with some essentials for less?

“Late winter is your last opportunity to buy oils, nuts and coffee at last year’s prices before anticipated manufacturer increases in March and April,” commented Warren.
