On a similar note, Resume Genius recently released a list of the most in-demand jobs for 2025. The data cited a note from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) pointing out that 19 million jobs would open annually across all education levels from 2023 to 2033.

These are the top ten in-demand jobs based on expected job openings and opportunities to find work. The research noted that these jobs could be in-demand due to replacing retired workers or people changing careers.

General and Operations Manager

• Projected annual job openings: 320,800
• Education required: Bachelor’s degree (depends on the industry)

A general and operations manager will oversee various departments or aspects of a company to keep things running smoothly. Operations managers are in demand because businesses constantly have to adapt to changes.

The education required will depend on the industry, but you can usually get in with a bachelor’s degree.

The work-life balance may make this a job worth pursuing, since you can likely find a high-paying job with a typical 40-hour schedule. According to Teal, you’ll want to set boundaries for communication so that you don’t get contacted in your time off if you’re someone striving to strike a balanced lifestyle.

Nurse Anesthetist, Nurse Midwife, Nurse Practitioner

Market research analysts collect and analyze data on consumers, competitors and overall market factors. While there are job openings in this field and fairly lucrative pay, you may not excel if you don’t do well in high-pressure scenarios.

The work is known for the combination of deadlines, work-related pressure, inadequate resources, project risks, excessive workload and job insecurity, which adds to the stress.

Substance Abuse, Behavioral Disorder and Mental Health Counselor

Those employed in this field will support patients dealing with addiction, depression and other mental health issues. These roles are in higher demand, as there’s an increase in emphasis on mental health care.

These jobs don’t pay as well as others on this list and could be emotionally draining. However, as Psychology.org pointed out, those working in this field can save lives and have emotionally fulfilling careers if it’s a subject they’re passionate about.
