Who doesn’t want some extra money? Between trying to take care of the basics and trying to save up for emergencies, your money can only go so far. That’s why thinking about other ways to make money could be the answer you’re looking for.
The good news is that there are different ways you can earn extra money all from the comfort of your own home. Some of these have flexible schedules, so you can work before or after your shifts.Â
Here are four ways to consider to help you make up to an extra $500 per week from home.
Rent Out Extra Storage or Parking Space
No, this isn’t something like AirBnb where you rent out part or all of your home to someone. Instead, if you have extra space in your garage, large pantry, shed or an unused parking space in your apartment complex, you can rent that out.
To start, you can use online marketplaces like Neighbor.com. You create a listing and profile of the space you want to rent out and the price. Neighbor.com also offers up to $1 million in liability insurance. You get charged a service fee when someone rents the space.
Test Websites and Apps
You don’t need much experience doing this — all you need is to know your way around a computer or smartphone and a decent internet connection.
Companies like Trymata will pay you to head to a website they’re trying to test out and you give feedback based on your experience. The company says you can expect to get requests to complete a few website reviews each week and get paid between $5 to $30 per test. Once your work is accepted, you’ll be paid out each day via Paypal.
Participate in Paid Online Test Groups
Websites like User Interviews give you the opportunity to make money from home by joining focus groups online. All you need is a computer, webcam and reliable internet connection.Â
After signing up for free, you can look through the available focus groups and what it entails. For example, some will ask you to pretend to be part of a panel of jurors and get paid $120 for two hours of work.Â
You can apply to as many as you like, but you may not be accepted to all of them. Be sure to check the date the online focus group happens so you can be sure you have to time to do it.Â
Get Paid To Track Your Health
If you already use other health apps like Apple Health or FitBit, you can get paid just for providing some of this data. Evidation is an app that pays you to track your health data like the hours of sleep you have and how many steps you walk in a day. The data is to help with research projects for organizations such as the American College of Cardiology.
Users can earn points for qualifying activities like tracking your health. Once you earn a certain amount of points, you can redeem them for cash or gift cards.Â
