Jenny McCarthy’s Career

McCarthy was working as a checkout clerk at a Polish grocery store when she decided to do a test shoot for Playboy, ABC News reported. The magazine named her Miss October in 1993 and Playmate of the Year the following year.

McCarthy’s next big break came when she was chosen as the co-host of MTV’s popular dating show “Singled Out,” which she hosted from 1995 to 1996. Acting roles followed, including parts in the films “BASEketball” (1998), “Scream 3” (2000) and “John Tucker Must Die” (2006). She also returned to her hosting roots as a co-host of “The View.”

Outside of her entertainment career, McCarthy has also written several books, including “Baby Laughs: The Naked Truth About the First Year of Mommyhood” and “Healing and Preventing Autism: A Complete Guide.”

McCarthy currently hosts “The Jenny McCarthy Show” on SiriusXM and is a panelist on the reality competition show “The Masked Singer.”

Jenny McCarthy’s Personal Life

McCarthy married director/actor John Mallory Asher in 1999; together they had a son, Evan, in 2002. The couple divorced in 2005. Evan was eventually diagnosed with autism, and McCarthy has become an outspoken advocate for autism research.

McCarthy dated actor Jim Carrey for five years before dating and marrying her now-husband Donnie Wahlberg in 2014. The couple now lives in a five-bedroom Tudor-style house in St. Charles, Illinois, People reported. The home features sitting and sunrooms, a formal dining room, a sewing room, a cocktail-themed bar, a pool with a water slide, waterfall and grotto, a private nature path and a one-hole practice golf green.
