Not everything is cheaper to buy at Costco. Scroll through the Target website and you’ll find an expansive inventory of refurbished and new items alike available to shop and save money online.
Of the thousands of new arrivals, GOBankingRates picked five that cost surprisingly less to shop at Target compared to Costco. Let’s see what made the shopping list.
Shark Matrix 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum/Mop
- Price: $159.95 for refurbished model
Target shoppers save hundreds of dollars adding a refurbished, like new Shark Matrix 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop to their shopping cart.
Similar Shark Matrix robot vacuums retail for $399.99 online at Costco. By comparison, you’re saving more than $240 at Target.
Lenovo IdeaPad 1 Touchscreen Laptop
- Price: $429.99
Need a laptop for the upcoming fall semester and want to keep costs down? Target and Costco both carry the Lenovo IdeaPad touchscreen laptop (and in 15.6-inch formats), but Target’s is much cheaper. This laptop is regularly $699.99 at Costco — which means reeling in massive savings of $270.
Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Hand Soap
- Price: $4.89
Is it a better deal to bulk buy Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day hand soap at Target or Costco?
A four-pack typically retails for $24.99 at the warehouse club, but each liquid hand soap costs $4.89 apiece at Target — just under $20 altogether. Technically, you could buy five bottles of Mrs. Meyer’s at Target for the price of four at Costco.
Cat & Jack Boys’ Flat Front Chino Shorts
- Price: $7.50
Stocking up closets with boys’ shorts? Cat & Jack chino shorts at Target are cheaper than similarly styled Hurley hybrid shorts at Costco ($9.97).
As a bonus, Target carries seven shorts colors to choose from while the Hurley shorts are available only in tan or blue.
Cushionaire Women’s Footbed Sandals
- Price: $34.99
It’s a win-win for your wallet to shop for Cushionaire women’s footbed sandals at Target.
A similarly designed pair of women’s Birkenstock sandals costs $79.99 online at Costco and is available to members only. That’s more than twice what you’d pay at Target for these comfortable and flexible sandals.
Editor’s note: Prices and availability are accurate as of Aug. 1, 2025, and are subject to change.
