It’s not easy to find new items at Target that are cheaper than Dollar Tree’s offerings, but it can be done if you really commit to saving money during your shopping outings.
GOBankingRates did a deep dive into Target’s newest arrivals and found six essentials that are much cheaper than what you’d pay at Dollar Tree. You might save a quarter or as much as a few dollars. See which new arrivals at Target are worth the money.
Sun Squad Pool Noodle
- Price: $1
Pocket an extra 25 cents shopping for Sun Squad’s pool noodles compared to the foam pool noodles sold at Dollar Tree. These swim noodles are appropriate for ages five and up and come in a wide range of colors.
The more you buy, the more you save. Buying four pool noodles at Target costs shoppers $4 and Dollar Tree shoppers $5.
Room Essentials Cocoa Butter Dinner Plate
- Price: $0.50
Though it may appear that Dollar Tree has cornered the market on inexpensive dinnerware, don’t count Target out from this race.
Their Room Essentials cocoa butter dinner plates cost 75 cents less than similarly styled dinner plates from Dollar Tree’s Royal Norfolk brand. The bestselling Room Essentials plates are also available in black and raspberry colors, in case beige isn’t quite your aesthetic.
Room Essentials Pale Raspberry Cereal Bowl
- Price: $0.50
Like the dinner plates, shoppers looking to save money on bowls to complete their dinnerware will want to explore options from Room Essentials.
Bowls sold at Dollar Tree retail for $1.25 each while Room Essentials carries a selection of dinner and cereal bowls for 50 cents apiece.
Dealworthy Composition Book
- Price: $0.65
If you need a composition book to wrap up the remainder of the school year, or simply get ahead of the fall back-to-school shopping crowd, you can save as much as 60 cents getting one from Target’s Dealworthy brand.
Each composition book is also wide ruled while the Dollar Tree website does not state whether their notebooks contain wide-ruled pages or not.
Spritz Large Happy Birthday Gift Bag
- Price: $1
While most party supplies tend to be low priced at Dollar Tree, Target’s in-house party supply brand Spritz is sometimes cheaper to shop. A large birthday-themed gift bag is just $1 compared to similarly sized Voila gift bags sold at Dollar Tree.
Bullseye’s Playground Metal Garden Stake
- Price: $1
For the final item in this roundup, we wanted to price match the metal outdoor stakes sold at Target and Dollar Tree.
Dollar Tree’s novelty metal yard stakes fall under the “more choices” category and cost $5 each. However, the new metal garden stakes sold under the Bullseye’s Playground brand are just $1 — netting $4 in overall savings. Buy these cute stakes to decorate your outdoor area and keep costs under wraps.
