Alden Ehrenreich will take on the iconic role of Han Solo in “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” following in the footsteps of “Star Wars” and “Blade Runner” star Harrison Ford. Ehrenreich’s other notable movies include “Hail, Caesar!,” “Beautiful Creatures” and “Stoker.

Singer and actor Donald Glover plays “the best smuggler around,” Lando Calrissian, in the new “Star Wars” film. He also stars in the television series “Atlanta” and will be the voice of Simba in the upcoming “Lion King” reboot. Glover has a successful singing career as well, performing under his stage name Childish Gambino. He will be touring throughout the U.S. in September and October on the “This Is America” tour.

It looks like “Game of Thrones” fans will get to see Emilia Clarke in a whole different light as she takes on the role of Qi’ra in the “Star Wars” prequel. Clarke has described her character as “an enigma” who is Han Solo’s partner in crime and love interest, Entertainment Weekly reported. Although her “Star Wars” salary hasn’t been revealed, Clarke is making bank on “Game of Thrones.” She is one of the highest-paid actors on any television drama, earning $500,000 per episode of the HBO hit, Variety reported.

British actor Paul Bettany plays the villain Dryden Vos, a facially scarred criminal overlord, in “Solo: A Star Wars Story.” The role was originally portrayed by Michael K. Williams, but it was given to Bettany when Ron Howard took over the directing role, Empire Online reported. You might recognize Bettany’s voice from the “Iron Man” and “Avengers” films, as he voiced the characters JARVIS and Vision.
4. Thandie Newton: $25M
Actress Thandie Newton plays Val, one of the three outlaws in “Solo: A Star Wars Story.” Not much has been revealed about her character yet, but she carries a massive blaster and is part of the crime family that Han Solo gets involved with, Entertainment Weekly reported. Newton also plays fan-favorite character Maeve on “Westworld,” and told Vanity Fair in April that she will finally be receiving the same salary as her male co-stars for season three.

Producer, actor and director Jon Favreau will be voicing the role of Rio Durant, a multi-armed alien that was described as a “very cool and important alien character” by director Howard. Although Favreau has had several notable on-screen roles, he’s best known for his producing work, which includes the films “The Avengers” and “Iron Man.” The movies he’s produced over the years have earned a lifetime gross approaching $2.2 billion, according to Box Office Mojo.

Woody Harrelson plays the part of Tobias Beckett, one of the outlaws in the film. “Well, he really shapes Han really more than anybody, as Han comes to realize that in a lawless time he needs to try to come to terms with some kind of moral code,” director Howard told Entertainment Weekly of the character. Harrelson has already starred in another epic movie franchise, playing the role of Haymitch Abernathy in the “Hunger Games” films. Each of the films grossed $650 million or more worldwide at the box office, according to Box Office Mojo.
