The Best $20 You Can Spend At Aldi This Summer

Aldi, known for its budget-friendly grocery items, offers a range of products that are typically cheaper than other retailers. If you’re on the lookout for your favorite summer foods, household essentials, clothing, personal care items or more, you can find them at Aldi for a much lower price.

“Aldi products move and change quickly. Be sure to grab what you are interested in right away or risk them not being restocked,” said Melissa Cid, consumer savings expert for MySavings.com. Here are the best items you can find at Aldi this summer for $20 or less.

“Warmer temperatures are perfect for leaning into cold brew for your daily java and the great thing about this product is it’s just $9.99 and brews four servings at a time,” said Julie Ramhold, consumer analyst with DealNews.com.

The Crofton Cold Bew Coffee System is easy to clean and comes in four colors, Ramhold explained. Each batch also makes up to four servings of coffee.

If you like to stay active, Aldi sells the popular Serra Water Bottle Holder bag. Reddit user Angel_Maria wrote that they found the holder bag at Aldi for only $9.99, and have seen similar bags sell for $20 or more at other retailers.

The Aldi bags are also a dupe of the name-brand CALPAK water bottle holders, which cost $48 on the company’s website. The bags look similar to the name brand, and Aldi Reviewer reported that they are difficult to tell apart.

Aldi’s Fresh Maui Pineapple Atlantic Salmon on a Cedar Plank is perfect for any summer BBQ menu. The fish is fresh, never frozen, and it even includes a cedar plank! The salmon is currently priced at $9.99 per pound.

Upgrade your BBQ experience with Pretzilla Pretzel Hamburger Buns. For only $2.99 at Aldi, these are a steal. Walmart sells the same item for $3.47, and they’re even pricier at Meijer, which sells them for $4.29 each.

Gardening and outdoor supplies hit Aldi’s shelves this spring, but the retailer is still offering plenty of great deals on these items while supplies last.

“Aldi has a lot of great gardening must-haves and outdoor décor right now,” Cid said. “You can grab nice planters of various sizes for under $20, and vegetable growing towers for $7.99. There are also solar-powered lights for under $10. It’s a great time to replace any outdoor chair and lounge chair cushions as they are only $9.99.”

As pool season draws near, you can find character swimsuits for the kids in sizes 2T to medium for $12.99 each. Minnie, Little Mermaid, Mickey and Spiderman prints are available, and the swimsuit comes with either a shirt and short or a shirt, bikini top and slip.  

Another Aldi essential is the Crane Soft-Sides Basket Cooler. “Choose from four different prints for just $9.99 each and take this basket with you for all your trips this summer,” Ramhold said. “These are perfect for ferrying picnic supplies as well as drinks, and have a lightweight aluminum frame plus a padded handle for comfortable carrying and a zippered exterior compartment to tuck other essentials like keys safely away.”

It’s also easy to store when it’s not in use. “Even better, this basket folds flat for storage, so you can tuck it neatly out of the way when you don’t need it,” she noted.

“If you get lucky, you may be able to match this $9.99 find to the soft-sided basket cooler for a smooth summer aesthetic,” said Ramhold. The Crane Foldable Utility Tote is also great for use year-round. 

“Because of its structure, it’s perfect for using to ferry groceries inside after a regular trip, but it’s also ideal for hauling items to the lakeside or beach for a day out in the summer sun. Aldi is adding the Crofton Two Burner Griddle to its shelves in black-speckled colors for only $14.99 – just in time for BBQ season! It’s large enough to cover two burners and cook family-size meals, and it has a nonstick coating for quick and easy cleanup. The griddle is compatible for use on glass ceramic, electric, halogen and gas stovetops.

Summer is one of the best times to shop at Aldi, according to Cid. The retailer recently announced that it’s reducing prices on over 250 summer essentials to put $100 million back into customers’ wallets through Labor Day.

“One of the best discounts this summer will be the USDA Choice Black Angus Sirloin Steak that dropped in price to $6.99, previously $8.49,” Cid said.
