Fall is just around the corner and that means Halloween’s not far behind. If you’re a budget-loving Costco member, you might want to start picking up some seasonal items ahead of time.
From bulk candy to holiday decor to essential kitchen gadgets, these are some of the best items to purchase at Costco before the spooky season is in full swing.
On a tighter budget? Here are seven Halloween items to buy at Dollar Tree.
Variety Pack of Candy Bars
- Price: $31.99
If you expect any trick-or-treaters this Halloween, you’re going to need some candy. As king of bulk buys, Costco has you covered with its 30-count of chocolate bars. This pack features eight Snickers, seven Twix, six M&Ms with peanuts, six M&Ms milk chocolates and four Milky Way bars.
Each item is full-sized and costs just over $1 each when you break it down. You might be spoiling the neighborhood kids — or your own sweet tooth — but it’s hard to go wrong at these prices.
Halloween Swirling Glitter Lantern
- Price: $49.99
If you want to make your house’s exterior a bit spookier this holiday season, check out Costco’s Halloween glitter lantern. It’s illuminated and plays haunting music. It also looks great indoors over a fireplace or down a long hallway.
This lantern also comes in several different designs, including Disney, Snoopy and The Nightmare Before Christmas. All you’ll need is three “C” batteries and you’ve got the perfect addition to the Halloween season. You can even set a timer that keeps it on for up to six hours at a time.
Animated Pumpkin Scarecrow
- Price: $224.99
Have you ever thought about getting a life-sized scarecrow for your front yard? If so, this seven-foot-tall animated pumpkin scarecrow should be right up your alley.
It’s got a pumpkin head that’s illuminated with LED lights that make it look like it’s on fire. Thanks to its built-in motion sensor, it can also say different phrases and move its limbs as people approach.
You’ll need some kind of an outdoor outlet to turn it on. Aside from that, you can set it to a timer that keeps it running for about six hours at a time — perfect for nighttime use.
Iron Dutch Oven and Casserole
- Price: $129.99
If you’re in the market for a new Dutch oven and casserole dish, this two pack could be perfect for your kitchen. These matching pieces come in either light or dark blue, but they’re popular so you might have to shop quickly or else wait until they’re back in stock.
These pieces can handle temperatures up to 500 degrees and are constructed from enameled cast iron. You can use them in the oven or on any cooktop, including induction ones. They are hand-wash only, so keep that in mind.
KitchenAid Vintage Stripe Pot Holder and Oven Mitt Set
- Price: $21.99
It gets chilly in many parts of the country around fall, so the season’s change is a good time to start cooking and baking more regularly — especially if you’ve been avoiding it in the heat of the summer. To go with your four-quart casserole dish and Dutch oven, check out Costco’s four-pack oven mitt and pot holder set.
It includes two miniature oven mitts, a regular-sized one and a single pot holder. Each item has a Chambray design and clear striped silicone to provide a non-slip grip. They come in several colors, including black, navy, gray and red and are machine washable.
Day of The Dead Clock with Lights
- Price: $59.99
The Day of the Dead is celebrated on November 1st and 2nd in honor of those who’ve passed on. If you or someone you know celebrates this holiday, this decorative clock could be worth the purchase.
It uses vibrant LED candles and is fully functional. It also makes for a lovely centerpiece. You’ll need four “AA” batteries to run it, but they’re included.
Stacked Halloween Greeter
- Price: $59.99
Standing at two feet tall, this resin Halloween decor item is perfect for greeting anyone who happens by. It comes with a pumpkin and candy corn base and has a bat and a ghost on top.
It’s definitely on the cuter side, which could be good if you don’t truly want to scare anybody. It’s also reasonably heavy, so you won’t have to worry about it tipping over in the wind.
