Costco has plenty to offer when it comes to spring deals. From patio furniture to grills to medicine, you can find most everything you need at the warehouse club.
But what are the best spring items to buy? GOBankingRates spoke to several Costco superfans to find out. This is what they said.
Patio Furniture
Costco currently has some good deals on patio furniture, something any homeowner should have if they plan to host outdoor gatherings or simply spend the day outside.
“The retailer is offering discounts of hundreds of dollars off much of their patio furniture, and most of it seems to be very well reviewed,” said Todd Stearn, Costco superfan and the founder and CEO of The Money Manual.
Options include patio tables, complete dining sets, chaise lounges and wicker chairs.
“Setting up a nice outdoor area that will feel like an extension of your home can be a good investment, as dinner and drinks outdoors can make you feel like you’re ‘out,’ without the expense of going out,” added Stearn.
If you want to keep things simple, check out Costco’s patio chairs.
“If you’re looking to spruce up your back porch or deck this spring, Costco features an Adirondack chair, which is both stylish and built for the long term,” said David Bakke, Costco superfan at DollarSanity. “The 40-year warranty helps, as well. It’s currently a steal at $160.”
Outdoor Grills and Barbecues
Spring and summer are the perfect time to start grilling, and Costco has a lot to offer right now.
“Costco’s seasonal assortment of premium outdoor barbecues is a great bargain for spring. From stylish versions ideal for backyard get-togethers to smaller models ideal for balconies, Costco has a wide selection of grills,” said Megan Kriss, Costco superfan and chief editor at Hunting Mark.
“Costco offers exceptional value for money, since their grills usually include extra accessories or warranty protection,” Kriss continued. “A Costco grill improves your outdoor cooking skills and your springtime get-togethers, whether you’re having family barbecues or spending peaceful evenings outside.”
Look for grills with cutting-edge features like infrared technology, multiple burners and sturdy construction. If you’re interested in something more specific, Bakke suggested the Weber grill.
“Costco has a grill on sale this spring for $950, which is $150 off retail,” he said. “It’s a Weber, has cast iron cooking grates and is highly versatile, with both a sear station and side burner. It has a 10-year warranty as well.”
Cordless Vacuums
A high-quality vacuum cleaner is a must-have, whether you have carpets or hard floors.
“Costco also has several cordless vacuums at discounts ranging from $100 to $200,” said Stearn. “So, if your vacuum cord has been driving you nuts — or even endangering your safety, if you have mobility issues or are just a little clumsy — this might be a good time to ditch it.”
Allergy Medicine
For many people, spring is synonymous with allergy season, but Costco’s got you covered.
“Allergy season is officially here, so looking for ways to save money on over-the-counter allergy treatment may be on your list at the moment,” said Samantha Landau, consumer expert and superfan at TopCashback. “Luckily, Costco is a great stop for allergy management. You can stock up for the season with Costco’s bulk options.”
One option is allergy nasal spray.
“For example, Costco is selling a total of 432 metered sprays of Flonase non-drowsy 24-hour allergy relief nasal spray for only $41.99,” Landau continued. “Amazon sells the same bulk option, but for over $10 more, making Costco the best deal this spring.”
Costco also carries other medications, including Zyrtec or Aller-tec, at a lower price than what you’d find elsewhere. If you can get these in bulk, you could save even more.
Pet Tick and Flea Meds
If you have an outdoor cat or dog, you might want to pick up some flea and tick meds for them at your local Costco.
“For the pet owners out there, protect your home from fleas and ticks this season with the right prevention method,” said Landau. “Costco sells eight-month supplies of Frontline Plus for cats and dogs for $61.99. Compared to Chewy, which sells six-month supplies for upwards of $75, Costco is the better deal.”
Gift Cards
Costco carries a variety of gift cards to popular stores, restaurants, movie theaters and even airlines — all at a discounted price. If you’re thinking about traveling in the coming months, now’s the time to check out the warehouse club’s selection.
“How about $50 in free air travel for this spring?” said Bakke. “Get a $500 e-gift card for Southwest Airlines for only $450. Terms and conditions apply when booking a flight with a gift card, so read through them carefully.”
Gardening Supplies
If you’re a gardener, Costco’s a one-stop shop for all of your gardening supplies.
“From plants and gardening tools to soil and fertilizers, Costco offers a wide range of gardening supplies at affordable prices, making it easy to kickstart your gardening projects,” said Nathan Jacobs, Costco superfan and senior researcher at The Money Mongers, Inc.
Hydration Multiplier Powder Sticks
Keeping yourself hydrated is important at any time of the year, and spring is no exception. Fortunately, you can find some great deals on hydration multiplier powder sticks at Costco that’ll help.
“If you find yourself dehydrated as the weather warms up, on-the-go hydration packets might be a great fit for you. Costco offers 24-packs of sugar-free Liquid I.V. Hydration Multiplier for $29.99,” said Landau. “Each pack is an individual serving, which can be added to water for triple the amount of electrolytes than leading sports drinks. The sticks also include five essential vitamins and minerals, making them a healthy option for increased hydration this spring.”
Cleaning Supplies
Ready to do some spring cleaning? Chances are, Costco has what you need at reasonable prices. The bulk buys can also help you save money, since many of these supplies have a long shelf life.
“You can find cleaning supplies, laundry detergents, storage containers and more at discounted rates,” said Jacobs. “Stocking up on these items at Costco helps you save money while keeping your home fresh and organized for the season.”
