Affordable prices don’t always mean cheap or ineffective. Dollar Tree typically beats most competition in terms of price, and sometimes even in quality.

When comparing Dollar Tree versus Target, several items stood out. According to reviews, here are five Dollar Tree items that are of better quality than those at Target.

Balloons

  • Price: $1.25 to $5

Dollar Tree sells packs of latex balloons in a range of colors, as well as an assortment of colorful and decorative foil balloons. Prices for balloons range from $1.25 to $5 at the discount retailer, and while Target also sells balloons, you can only get them filled with helium at Dollar Tree.

Shoppers seem generally happy with the quality of Dollar Tree balloons, and one person even commented that their foil balloon remained fully inflated for three weeks.

Ultimate White Whitening Dental Strips

  • Price: $1.25

Dollar Tree doesn’t seem like the obvious choice for teeth whitening, but shoppers are happy with the whitening dental strips from Ultimate White. The package comes with six strips and three treatments, and shoppers on Dollar Tree’s website commented that they work great and buy them whenever they’re on shelves.

Target sells whitening strips from several different brands, including a pack of 10-day whitening strips from Target’s Up&Up brand. Both items received positive reviews, but some Target shoppers were not pleased with the outcome.

Facial Tissues

  • Price: $1.50

Shoppers gave Dollar Tree’s two-ply facial tissues a 4.2 out of five stars, with 89% recommending the product.
