Sleeper Sofa
Who doesn’t love a sleeper sofa? It’s the perfect furniture item for everyday lounging that comes in extra-handy when guests are in town.
Ikea’s Friheten sleeper sectional is a clear winner where – coming in at a cool $899. It’s great for company and has storage built in. A definite winner.
Costco offers up the Coddle Aria fabric sleeper sofa, priced at $1,199.99. Sure, it’s got some extra features like power outlets and USB ports, but is that worth the extra $300? We’ll let you be the judge, but our wallets are leaning toward Ikea on this one.
Coffee Table
Next up, let’s talk coffee tables. Ikea’s Trulstorp is strutting its stuff at $169.99, while Costco’s Kingswood 45-inch coffee table is asking for $349.99 of your hard-earned cash.
The Costco table does have some fancy “hand-applied, multistep finish,” but unless you’re planning to eat your dinner off it every night, do you really need to spend an extra $180?
Entertainment Center
When it comes to housing your prized 82-inch TV (because go big or go home, right?), Costco’s Holden three-in-one TV console is on sale for $499.99. Not bad, but Ikea’s Bestå storage combination is ready to take on your entertainment needs for just $411. That’s almost $90 you could spend on, well, actual entertainment.
Recliner
Time to put your feet up and relax — but not before we compare recliners! Ikea’s Gistad recliner is lounging at a cool $369, while Costco’s Aldryn leather power glider recliner is kicking back at $599.99.
The Costco option comes in leather with fancy power features, but going with the Ikea version (which is still plenty comfortable!) will save you a sizable $230.
Sectional Sofa
Last but not least, let’s look at sectional sofas. Ikea’s Finnala sectional is sprawling out at $1,699, while Costco’s Macon three-piece fabric modular sectional is asking for $1,499.99.
Wait a minute — Costco’s cheaper here? Well, hold your horses! The Ikea option is a four-seater with a chaise, while Costco’s is just a three-piece. If you can afford the $200 difference, you get more bang for your buck at Ikea.

Of course, no store is always superior when it comes to savings — so when you’re ready to make your final purchases, double-check all the prices and make sure you’re happy with all the bells and whistles.
