“The general public thinks you need to hire an electrician (aka drop $200 to $300) to install wall sconces, but the biggest brands like this one are actually SUPER DIY-friendly and come with a plug kit that allows you to install them in 1/4 of an hour with nothing more than an outlet and a screwdriver,” explained Niemela.

“It’s got that textured wood look we all love for hitting the warm but modern note, but what sets this one apart is the depth and shelf spacing [and] design,” Niemala described. “It’s deep enough to hold AV components without looking too far out from the wall.”

Andreas Siesing of Auctionet highlighted Ikea’s FRYKSÅS armchair and ottoman combo as one of the best deals of 2026 that will likely add value to your home, as well as taste.

Niemela shared being continually surprised by how well the IKEA FINNALA Seat/Chaise Lounge from Ikea holds up, calling it heftier than the average budget “chill on your phone” lounge due to having both a deeper seat and longer frame.
“You can leave it folded down all day and the seat stays nice and firm,” added Niemela. “Buy in Gunnared beige or medium gray, because whenever one color sells out, it could be months till the next restock!”
