Costco’s private label brand, Kirkland Signature, went against industry standards when it launched in 1995. But the move would pay off in spades.
In 2024, Kirkland sales hit $86 billion and are now bigger than Proctor and Gamble and Kraft Heinz; with lower prices than top brand names, Kirkland Signature’s 350 products account for one-third of Costco sales, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Kirkland items vary in price, but these are the best of the brand’s items to buy from Costco in April if you’re looking for great value.
Kirkland Signature Organic Coconut WaterÂ
- Price: $12.99
As more people head outdoors in April, a good way to stay hydrated on long walks, bike rides and hikes is with Kirkland Signature Organic Coconut Water. It contains natural electrolytes such as magnesium, calcium, potassium and sodium to enhance energy and hydration. It’s packed with vitamins such as vitamin C, iron and zinc and is sugar-free and kosher.Â
Enjoy it on its own, or pour into smoothies and recipes. The uniquely designed 11.1-ounce container is easy to carry — and for 12 bottles close to around $1.00 per bottle, you can’t go wrong with the price.
Kirkland Signature Organic Greek Nonfat YogurtÂ
- Price: $7.94
Still a popular trend, Greek yogurt has mega health benefits and is an excellent source of protein, according to Real Simple. Some research studies claim it helps increase mortality and longevity.Â
The great thing about Kirkland Signature Organic Greek Nonfat Yogurt is that it’s sugar-free and nonfat, and comes in a three-pound container — that’s a lot of yogurt. Serve it with fruit, as a parfait with fruit and granola or an icing on a carrot cake.Â
Kirkland Signature Imported Basil PestoÂ
- Price: $11.10
Homemade pesto tastes great, but if you want to spend less time in the kitchen, Kirkland Signature Imported Basil Pesto from Italy comes as close as it gets to homecooked pesto. And like all Costco products, you’ll always have enough left over — it comes in a 22-ounce jar, after all. Add it to pasta, pizza and your favorite sauces. Then, put it in the freezer if you have some left over.
Kirkland Signature Rotisserie Chicken
- Price: $5.84
Have you ever bought an expensive rotisserie chicken from the grocery store that looked decent, only to find it was dry, overcooked and had a rough texture when you brought it home? You don’t have to worry about that with the legendary Kirkland Signature Rotisserie Chicken, known for its moist, juicy and delicious taste.Â
At less than $6.00, it’s a total steal. Eat it as a meal, or toss it into soups, salads or tacos, burritos and tamales on the grill for an April barbecue. In a time of high inflation, the low price is a relief. Kirkland Signature Rotisserie Chicken is gluten-free and contains no MSG, artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.
Kirkland Signature Allergy Medicine
- Price: $9.99
With April flowers comes the beginning of pollen season, when pollen counts are high, causing allergies and hay fever. Kirkland Signature Allergy Medicine is a defense against Mother Nature. This antihistamine provides temporary relief for itchy, watery eyes, runny nose, sneezing and sore throat caused by seasonal allergies. If you take sedatives or tranquilizers, consult with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product. With 600 Minitabs (25mg), this allergy medicine lasts longer than competing brands, making it a great value.
