Costco’s private label brand, Kirkland Signature, went against industry standards when it launched in 1995. But the move would pay off in spades.

In 2024, Kirkland sales hit $86 billion and are now bigger than Proctor and Gamble and Kraft Heinz; with lower prices than top brand names, Kirkland Signature’s 350 products account for one-third of Costco sales, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Kirkland items vary in price, but these are the best of the brand’s items to buy from Costco in April if you’re looking for great value.

Kirkland Signature Organic Coconut Water 

• Price: $12.99

As more people head outdoors in April, a good way to stay hydrated on long walks, bike rides and hikes is with Kirkland Signature Organic Coconut Water. It contains natural electrolytes such as magnesium, calcium, potassium and sodium to enhance energy and hydration. It’s packed with vitamins such as vitamin C, iron and zinc and is sugar-free and kosher.

Kirkland Signature Imported Basil Pesto

And like all Costco products, you’ll always have enough left over — it comes in a 22-ounce jar, after all. Add it to pasta, pizza and your favorite sauces. Then, put it in the freezer if you have some left over.

Have you ever bought an expensive rotisserie chicken from the grocery store that looked decent, only to find it was dry, overcooked and had a rough texture when you brought it home?
