Chime®* is a financial technology company that offers access to banking services, which are provided by The Bancorp Bank or Stride Bank. One of its main attractions is that customers can take advantage of its services and offerings without having to worry about overdraft charges or monthly maintenance fees.

Chime does not offer physical locations to customers, as it is a financial tech company. However, Chime still observes all U.S. federal and bank holidays. Keep in mind that if you try and complete a direct deposit on a holiday, it will likely not hit your account until after the holiday.

Chime 2025 Holiday Schedule

Although not a bank with no physical branches, Chime bank holidays are still observed — and banks typically don’t process deposits on holidays. If you make a deposit on a federal or bank holiday, it will be processed the next business day.

You can see at a glance below the upcoming federal holiday schedule in 2025, when you can expect most brick-and-mortar banks and financial institutions to be closed.

How To Use Your Account While Chime Is Closed

Chime is designed so you can access your account whenever you want to, whether online or through Chime’s mobile app. With the app, you can transfer money and set up account alerts, and if you’re eligible, you can also use the mobile check deposit feature1.

Chime is also part of an extensive network of more than 60,000 ATMs if you need to make a fee-free withdrawal2.

Chime Regular Business Hours

As an online-only alternative to banks, Chime doesn’t maintain physical branches, so it’s technically open around the clock. However, some of its banking functions might be affected by national bank holidays.

You can access your Chime account either online or with the app at any time, including on weekends. Since there are no physical branches, “normal” banking hours do not apply to Chime. Although you can check your transactions anytime you want, Chime follows the Federal Reserve and doesn’t process deposits on Saturday and Sunday. You can still contact customer service 24/7 and reach a live agent at 1-844-244-6363.

Does Chime Deposit on Weekends?

The timing of direct deposits will vary on when the payment is sent to your Chime account. Chime posts deposits Monday through Friday.

While some customers might prefer face-to-face interactions with bank tellers, one of the advantages of using an online alternative to banks is that you never have to worry about planning your schedule around visiting a physical location.

What Time Does a Chime Direct Deposit Hit After a Holiday?

Chime does not process deposits on federal bank holidays. So if your direct deposit is set to hit on a federal bank holiday, wait until the following business day to see if it has posted. Federal bank holidays that fall on a Saturday are observed on the preceding Friday, while those that fall on a Sunday are observed on Monday.
