One of the simplest ways to save money on bath and beauty products is to shop for these essentials at dollar stores like Dollar Tree. When GOBankingRates recently price matched eight bath and beauty Dollar Tree items to similar offerings at Walmart, we were surprised at how many essentials cost several dollars more at the big-box retailer.
From shower soap to cotton rounds, keep reading to find out which bath and beauty products are a lot less expensive at Dollar Tree than if you shopped at Walmart.
White Rain Ocean Mist Body Wash
- Price: $1.25
Both Dollar Tree and Walmart carry White Rain ocean mist body wash, but which is cheaper?
The Dollar Tree offering is $1.25 for every 18-ounce bottle. Meanwhile, Walmart shoppers pay a whopping $9.18 for a 12-ounce bottle of the exact same brand of body wash. Dollar Tree wins this round, saving shoppers $7.93 on their purchase with an additional six ounces of body wash included.
VO5 Men’s 3-in-1 Ocean Surge Shower Soap
- Price: $1.25
An 18-ounce bottle of VO5 men’s 3-in-1 ocean surge shower soap costs $1.25 at Dollar Tree and works as a shampoo, conditioner and body wash.
The exact same shower soap brand and bottle size at Walmart is priced at $6.99. Picking up the VO5 shower soap at Dollar Tree puts $5.74 back into shoppers’ wallets.
Dove Moisturizing Soap
- Price: $1.25
Sometimes the savings found when price matching are minimal. Walmart sells Dove moisturizing soap for $1.54: just 29 cents more than what you’d pay for the same Dove moisturizing soap sold at Dollar Tree.Â
Every penny adds up, so if you’re already shopping at Dollar Tree, consider adding a soap bar to your shopping cart.
Irish Spring Original Deodorant Soap Bars
- Price: $1.25
Need a two-count package of Irish Spring deodorant soap bars? Shoppers can pick up a set of soap bars at Walmart for $7.23 or head to Dollar Tree for the same brand and amount of soap for $1.25.
Savvy shoppers already know they’ll want to snag this soap, and $5.98 in savings, at Dollar Tree.
Dial Vanilla Honey Moisturizing Hand Soap
- Price: $1.25
Both Dollar Tree and Walmart carry Dial vanilla honey moisturizing hand soap in a 7.5-fluid ounce container. Dollar Tree’s offering is nine cents cheaper than if you shopped at Walmart, and that may be enough of a selling point for frugal shoppers.
Colorful Loofahs
- Price: $1.25
You can find inexpensive loofahs at Dollar Tree and Walmart, but shoppers that need to stock up on this bathroom cleansing staple are recommended to shop at Dollar Tree.
Their colorful loofahs are $1.25 each, which is 75 cents cheaper than what similar bath sponges for sale at Walmart cost.
Assured Cotton Rounds
- Price: $1.25
Walmart might have cornered the market on cheap bulk cotton balls and cotton swabs, but they have yet to outprice Dollar Tree on cotton rounds.Â
An 80-count package of cotton rounds at Dollar Tree is $1.25. In comparison, the Equate brand of exfoliating rounds sold at Walmart is $3.67 for an 80-count package.
Vaseline Original Lip Therapy Sticks
- Price: $1.25
It’s a close call as to whether Vaseline lip therapy sticks are cheaper to shop for at Dollar Tree versus Walmart. However, Dollar Tree edges out Walmart by 11 cents with its Vaseline brand lip balms for $1.25. Stock up on a few balms if you’re prone to losing these on a regular basis.
