If you’re shopping at a dollar store or big-box retailer, $25 is usually enough money to walk away with several items. However, $25 at Costco can swing buying only one — maybe two at most — bulk buys at the same time.
That said, it makes more sense to buy certain items at the warehouse club than elsewhere during the winter months. GOBankingRates picked out six buys that shoppers will want to add to their carts, with every item priced at $25 or less. Take a look at where your $25 should go at Costco this winter.
Oversized Throw Blanket
- Price: $16.97
Keep plenty of extra Life Comfort throws on hand in your home for an extra touch of cozy on cold winter mornings and evenings. Holding an impressive 4.9 rating on the Costco website, these plush throws are available online only and come in gray, light gray, ivory and green colors.
“Love this oversized throw!” wrote London128 in a five-star review. “It’s very, very soft and looks great after several washes and dries. Loved the first one so much that I bought a second one.”
Organic Tomato Sauce
- Price: $13.99
Pasta, soup and chili are just a few winter comfort staples that can all be made using Kirkland Signature organic tomato sauce.
Each bulk package contains 12 cans of sauce. Per can, Costco members pay $1.17 each — a great value considering each can’s 15-ounce size.
Sugar Free Lemon Mint Drops
- Price: $20.99
Stock up on Ricola sugar free lemon mint drops to soothe sore throats and save money at Costco.
Each bag contains 210 cough drops for $20.99. If you shopped for the same cough drop brand at CVS, you’d pay $7.99 for a 45-count bag. As a bonus, Costco members may pay for these drops using their flexible spending accounts.
Children’s Tylenol
- Price: $18.99
Keep the medicine cabinet stocked with children’s Tylenol liquid pain relief and fever medicine.
Not only can you use your FSA to pay for this three-count set of 12-ounce bottles, but it’s much cheaper to buy in bulk compared to popular big-box retailers. Target, for example, carries the same brand of children’s liquid medicine, priced at $7.99 per bottle. This bottle also contains less medication at just 4 ounces.
Ibuprofen
- Price: $12.99
Swap out pricey aspirin name brands for Kirkland Signature ibuprofen.
Costco members receive two bottles of the pain reliever and fever reducer, with 500 tablets in each bottle. This means you’re getting 1,000 tablets that work quickly to reduce pain related to toothaches, backaches, minor arthritis pain and more. This product is FSA eligible.
Chicken Noodle Soup
- Price: $15.99
There’s nothing like a steaming hot bowl of Campbell’s chicken noodle soup on a cold winter’s day. If your pantry is running low, put your $25 to restocking it with an eight-count package. This comes out to paying just $2 for each generously sized 18.6-ounce can.
