It’s that time of year: the late summer, early fall shopping window that you do not want to miss at Target. The giant retailer is the place to go for back to school shopping and everyday items at a budget-friendly low price, as well as where to get everything you need for the best Halloween you and the family have ever had.
While it might seem like it’s too early to start thinking about October 31st, there are deals on items at Target that you’ll want to stock up on before the witching hour truly begins on the calendar.
With the help of some shopping experts and Target fans, GOBankingRates found the ten best items to buy at Target before Halloween.
Here are five Halloween decor items that are cheaper at Spirit Halloween than Target.
Pumpkin Spice Coffee Creamer
- Target Price: $3 to $4 each
“If you’re a coffee drinker, you know pumpkin spice season is the real deal,” said Tiago Pita, retail expert and brand director at Whole Food Earth.
“Target usually has a good selection of seasonal creamers and adding a splash to your morning coffee is an easy way to get into the fall spirit,” he said.
Halloween LED String Lights
- Target Price: $10 to $15 each
Nothing gets the little ghouls as excited for trick-or-treating season as a house filled with decorative lights to set the spooky tone.
“These are great for creating some indoor or even outdoor Halloween atmosphere, which is both creepy and a bit whimsical,” said Taylor Moore, shopping expert and co-founder of Teasy Agency.
Threshold Halloween Decorative Pillows
Mini Pumpkins
- Target Price: $5 for a pack of 3
Pumpkins are the symbol of not just Halloween, but fall in general. From carving jack-o’-lanterns to serving up pumpkin pie at Thanksgiving, you can have mini pumpkins all season long, thanks to Target.
“These are items which can be placed anywhere; be it in a home, office or any other area of human activity,” Moore said. “Seasonal products at Target are higher quality and can be reused for different occasions every year hence a good value for the price paid.”
Mott’s Halloween Fruit Snacks
- Target Price: $6 for 20 pouches
Pita admitted that “these are a hit with kids and let’s be honest, adults too.”
“They’re a fun snack to have on hand for lunchboxes or even as a treat at a Halloween party,” Pita explained. “Plus, they’re usually available in big packs at Target, so you get good value for the price.”
Hyde & EEK! Boutique Halloween Lights
- Target Price: $10 to $15 per set
“For every objective, appropriate Halloween lights from Target must be bought in order to set the proper mood,” Sornoso said.
“Both are resistant and flexible for use indoors and outdoors so that your home can be decorated with well-illuminated decorations for the holiday,” he explained.
Pumpkin-Shaped Pasta
- Target Price: $2 to $3
According to Pita, this is one of those fun finds that make dinner a little more festive.
“Whether you’re making mac and cheese or a pasta dish with a hearty fall sauce, these pumpkin-shaped noodles are a cute and tasty addition,” Pita said.
Halloween-Themed Pajamas For Kids
- Target Price: $15 to $25 per set
Sornoso explained how these Halloween pajamas look lovely and offer options for comfort and wearability.
“They will help children look forward to the occasion and since most are made to last long, they can be used outside the occasion,” he said.
Threshold Fall Wreath
- Target Price: $20 to $30
“A fall wreath from Target is a nice way to add some seasonal decor to your front door,” Pita said.
“The Threshold brand offers some really well-made options with realistic leaves, berries and pinecones,” he explained. “They’re not the cheapest, but they’ll last you through several fall seasons.”
Halloween Candy
- Target Price: Between $5 and $20 depending on the size of bag
“Target’s assortment of Halloween candy is quite broad, and the prices are reasonable, so buying candies for the trick-or-treaters becomes easy,” Sornoso explained.
“This means there is enough stock for Halloween night and everyone can choose their food in case of a preference clash,” he said.
