CVS Is Closing 271 Stores in 2025: Is Yours One of Them?

You might have to venture a little further for your visit to the pharmacy. As many brick-and-mortar retailers continue to struggle, CVS announced that it would be closing hundreds of locations throughout the U.S.
“During the third quarter of 2024, in connection with its enterprise-wide restructuring plan, the company completed a strategic review of its retail business, which included evaluating changes in population, consumer buying patterns and future health requirements to ensure continued alignment of its retail footprint with consumer needs,” CVS stated in its most recent annual report.
“In connection with this initiative … the company determined it planned to close 271 retail stores in 2025.”
If your local CVS has yet to close, it could be next on the chopping block. Although CVS has not announced a full list of location closures, The Krazy Koupon Lady and Newsweek have compiled a list of locations that have either already closed or announced closures.
