What should retirees buy at Dollar Tree this fall? Most retirees know that the store has affordable cleaning supplies and paper products, for example, so those items are go-to essentials. What else that’s fall-specific could go on this list and save retirees some money?
GOBankingRates window-shopped the Dollar Tree website and rounded up seven items for retirees to buy now ahead of the fall months. From mugs to melatonin, click “Add to Cart” for these seven Dollar Tree must-buys.
Royal Norfolk Fall Leaves Ceramic Mug
- Price: $1.25
Retirees who want a simple fall-themed coffee mug will want to add one of Royal Norfolk’s fall leaves ceramic mugs to their Dollar Tree shopping cart.
Similarly designed fall mugs for sale at Target run about $14.99 each, so retirees are saving upwards of $12 on their purchase.
Home Collection Harvest Pumpkin Oven Mitts and Potholders
- Price: $1.25
The new Home Collection harvest pumpkin oven mitts and potholders are worth shopping for if you want to add a cozy fall touch to your kitchen without paying a fortune for it.
Buy an oven mitt or potholder on its own for $1.25 each, or buy one of both and pay $2.50. Even Walmart, which prices its Mainstays oven mitts at $2.88 and pot holders for $2.88, cannot beat out these prices at Dollar Tree.
2-Ply Facial Tissues
- Price: $1.25
Cooler weather is coming and it’s never a bad idea to make sure you’re stocked up on tissues.
At Target, an up&up box of facial tissues costs $1.89 for a box of 110 tissues. By comparison, Dollar Tree’s 2-ply facial tissues not only cost 64 cents less but it comes with 65 more tissues (175 total) than what you’d get at Target.
Halls Relief Cherry Cough Drops
- Price: $1.25
If you just need a smaller bag of Halls cough drops on hand to keep in your purse or carry-on as you travel, don’t leave Dollar Tree without buying a bag. Each bag contains 14 cough drops in the cherry flavor which work fast to relieve coughs and soothe sore throats.
Restorz Restful Sleep Strawberry Melatonin Gummies
- Price: $1.25
If you’ve ever been curious about trying melatonin gummies for better sleep, now’s your chance to do it for less. Restorz’s melatonin gummies include 14 strawberry-flavored gummies in every bag for just $1.25.
Compared to other melatonin brands like Olly which retail for $17.99 at CVS for a 50-count container, retirees will be able to test if melatonin works for them without setting their budgets too far back.
Premier Just Yarn Plush
- Price: $1.25
All the positive reviews on the Dollar Tree website sold us on Premier plush yarn. Reviewers left comments on how this soft yarn was ideal for knitting and crocheting, especially if you’re making stuffed animals or clothes.
Retirees with similar knitting plans this fall won’t want to miss out on this yarn while it’s in stock at Dollar Tree. At $1.25 each, you’ll be able to splurge on several colors.
Watercolor Pad
- Price: $3.00
GOBankingRates shopped around to see what the price of watercolor pads looks like at other retailers and found Dollar Tree sells these art pads at some of the lowest prices. Similar offerings are regularly priced at $4.19 at Office Depot and $3.99 at Michaels.
“I’m a mixed media artist so when I found this paper at Dollar Tree, I was very pleased because I love visiting Dollar Tree for their crafts,” wrote reviewer Jennnnnnn. “The paper is great and the price is even better!”
