Summer might be in full swing, but fall will be here before you know it. To save money and protect your budget, now can be a great time to stock up on popular fall items. You can often find a better selection and prices if you buy seasonal items when they’re out of season.
Warehouse clubs like Sam’s Club can be a great way to save money on many different items. Plus, even though they often sell in bulk, there are plenty of single-item products available. Keep reading as we discuss six of the best fall items to buy in advance.
School Supplies
If you have kids in school, you know how extensive the school supply list can be. Instead of waiting for typical “back-to-school” sales in August, consider buying their school supplies now. There will be a much better selection and you can often find good prices since the demand is lower in the summer.
Some school supplies at Sam’s Club include pencils, pens, paper, notebooks, highlighters, post-its, glue sticks and more. Sam’s Club currently has a pack of 32 mechanical pencils for under $10, 12 yellow highlighters for $6.98 and a pack of assorted colored pens for under $15. While shopping, consider buying other things you might need during the school year, like Ziploc bags, tissues and hand sanitizer.

Popular characters won’t get restocked, if there is one your child has their eye on it’s better to grab it now or risk it being gone.”
School Uniforms
As back-to-school season gets closer, you’re probably also shopping for new clothes. If your child has a school uniform, Sam’s Club is a great place to find uniform-approved clothing.
You can find Gap boys navy blue or tan shorts for $12 and pants for under $13. Sam’s Club also sells a line of uniform clothing by Nautica that comes in a variety of classic school uniform colors like navy, red, white, blue and tan. Options include polos, pants, shorts and skirts.
Fall Clothing
Summer can also be a great time to score some good deals on fall clothing. Things like jeans, light jackets, sweaters, socks and boots can all be found at Sam’s Club.
“Member’s Mark Travel Pullover sweatshirts are only $16.98 and are the perfect fall closet staple,” Cid said. “These comfortable and quality [pullovers come] in six colors and is great for the transition weather from fall to winter. This one will likely sell out by fall so grab it now.”

For many, the end of summer and the start of fall means a return to cheering on your favorite teams. Whether you or someone in your family are a college football, NFL or MLB fan, you can find clothing for your team at Sam’s Club. And now is a great time to buy these items before they start selling out.
“Sports fan gear from college and NFL are well stocked right now, but if you wait until fall you’ll likely miss out,” Cid said. “From tailgating gear to apparel, you can score great prices on your favorite teams merchandise.”
Halloween Decor
Some people may think it is too early to buy Halloween decor, but if you plan to purchase new items this fall, then summer might be a great time to buy it in advance. Halloween decorations can sell out quickly as the holiday approaches.
Sam’s Club is selling a Member’s Mark set of five pre-lit pumpkin pathway lights for under $20, which would be a great decoration in your front yard.
