There is a phrase that we should all be living by more: “Treat yourself.” That does not necessarily mean you have to spend a lot of money or go on an exotic vacation to make yourself feel special. In fact, you can indulge in “little luxuries” on a budget when you shop at Costco.
The giant retailer has a reputation for being a place where you can pick up quality products in bulk for your and your family. However, you can also do the exact opposite and grab a few little luxuries that Costco has to offer as the summer comes to a close. And what’s more luxurious than having your fun delivered right to your door?
Kristen Markel — a Costco pro and owner of Warehouse Wanderer, a blog that discusses all things Costco — shared some top “little luxuries” that Costco offers with same-day shipping via Instacart (though prices may be a bit higher with delivery). What’s more luxurious than having something delivered straight to your door?
Here are four little luxuries to buy this fall at Costco.
Tru Fru Milk Chocolate Strawberries
- Price: $10.99
Imagine coming home from a long day at work. You’re exhausted and just craving something sweet and delicious to reward yourself for a job well done. Well, if you picked up some Tru Fru milk chocolate strawberries, all you’d have to do is open the freezer and take a bite of succulent flavors Costco has to offer.
“These chocolate-dipped strawberries from the freezer section may feel like a luxury, but they’re surprisingly affordable,” Markel said.
“A 1.25-pound bag costs just $10.99, and each serving is only 90 calories,” Markel said. “It’s indulgence without the guilt!”
Truffle Parmesan and Black Garlic Seasoning
- Price: $8.49
According to Markel, truffles are synonymous with luxury, and for good reason. They’re rare, seasonal and notoriously difficult to cultivate.
“But you don’t need to break the bank to enjoy that rich, decadent flavor,” Markel said.
That’s because you do not need a truffle hunting pig to track down a seasoning that can bring your meals to life with just the shake of your wrist when you shop at Costco.
“Epicurean Specialty’s truffle parmesan and black garlic seasoning brings a touch of gourmet to everyday dishes like French fries, vegetables or popcorn,” Markel said, pointing out how Costco offers a 0.56-pound container for just $8.49.
It’s perfect to add to your recipes for parties to spice up the typical meals and dishes or easy to add to your favorite snacks at home or work.
Rastelli’s Chuck Short Rib Burger
- Price: $11.99
If you have ever had short ribs, you know the meat practically melts in your mouth. While you might not have the gourmet skills or state-of-the-art culinary kitchen to make them yourself, you can have the next best thing with Rastelli’s chuck short rib burgers from Costco.
“Costco sells a pack of six 1/3-pound burgers for $11.99,” Markel said. “But hurry — these seasonal delights won’t be around for long.”
Starbucks K-Cups
- Price: $31.99
As the weather cools, Markel pointed out that there’s nothing like a comforting cup of coffee to warm up your day. And when it comes to treating yourself right for a cup of joe, nobody does it better than Starbucks. Only now you do not have to drive to your nearest Starbucks coffee shop. You can order it right at home from Costco and have it delivered to your door.
“Costco’s selection of Starbucks K-Cups brings the café experience home, offering several popular blends,” Markel said. “You can get a 72-count box for $39.99 (currently on sale for $31.99) — a luxury you can savor every morning.”
That means you get to sleep in and enjoy your favorite brew. If that’s not luxury, what is?
