As summer 2024 starts to wind down, there’s still time for shoppers to head to Sam’s Club for a few frozen foods they can stock up on ahead of the fall season. Some items will be good for breakfast while others are great dinners to have on hand after busy days. Best of all, none of these six frozen foods exceeds a $20 price tag.
To help you shop, GOBankingRates rounded up six freezer items worth picking up at Sam’s Club. Don’t let this summer end before shopping for these cheap frozen foods.
Jimmy Dean Fully Cooked Breakfast Pork Sausage Patties
- Price: $9.98
Some shoppers might wonder why we chose to add Jimmy Dean pork sausage patties to this roundup instead of the Jimmy Dean sausage, egg and cheese croissant sandwiches also sold at Sam’s Club.
The answer boiled down to a combination of value and versatility. At $9.98 for a box of 24 sausage patties, this comes out to paying about 42 cents each. Sam’s Club members can also utilize the patties however they prefer, whether that means adding as a side to a country style breakfast or meal-prepping their own breakfast sandwiches to freeze ahead of the work week.
Eggo Homestyle Waffles
- Price: $9.86
Whether you’re picking up a box for your household or helping your college kid stock up for their dorm, the 60-count of Eggo homestyle waffles are a must-buy at Sam’s Club.
As an example of how much money you save, let’s compare the Eggo waffles sold at Sam’s Club to Target, which carries the same waffles in a 24-count box for $6.99. To get to 60 waffles, Target shoppers would have to buy about three boxes of Eggo waffles. They’d end up with 72 waffles this way, but would be set back $20.97. This is more than $10 what you’d spend at Sam’s Club.
Smucker’s Uncrustables Sandwiches
- Price: $13.98
Smucker’s Uncrustables in grape, aside from being an easy lunchtime frozen food to have on hand, save you more money at Sam’s Club than they would making the same purchase at another big-box store.
At Walmart, for example, the same Uncrustables sandwiches come in a box of 10 for $9.96. As good of a deal as that may seem, Sam’s Club has one-upped the competition. For $13.98, members receive 18 Uncrustables in every box. Not only is that eight more Uncrustables, but it brings the price per Uncrustable down to 78 cents each compared to Walmart’s $1 each.
Totino’s Frozen Pizza Rolls
- Price: $11.98
Did you know college students spend an average of $410 a month eating off campus? Stock up on snacks like Totino’s pizza rolls to help reign in some of this spending and stay on budget.
With 160 pizza rolls inside every box, the rolls should keep snackers going for awhile. And if they run out before the semester is over, the $11.98 price tag makes adding to cart again fairly budget-friendly.
Don Lee Farms Flame Grilled Angus Choice Beef Patties
- Price: $19.98
Summer may be coming to a close, but the heat is likely to stick around. That means there’s still time to cook burgers on the grill.
Priced just barely under $20, Don Lee Farms beef patties come loaded with 12 frozen patties and up to three pounds worth of meat in every bag. Positive five-star reviews from Sam’s Club shoppers highlight the ease in cooking these beef patties and their great taste.
“Bought these and have been eating them like steaks with onion, peppers and baked potato on the side. They are really tasty and make a great meal,” wrote reviewer BJS on the Sam’s Club website. “They are a little expensive but the quality is superb and worth the extra cost. I will be buying these as long as you have them and telling all my friends about them.”
Red Baron Pepperoni Pizza with Classic Crust
- Price: $11.98
What’s a cheap frozen foods roundup without bulk frozen pizza? After careful review of the frozen pizza aisle, GOBankingRates added the three-pack of Red Baron pepperoni pizza to this roundup.
At $11.98 for the set of three pizzas, the price is a little less than what shoppers would pay for similar Member’s Mark pizzas in three-packs for $12.98. (That’s $4.33 per pizza compared to Red Baron’s $3.99 each.)
