Amazon’s growth as an ecommerce giant continues year after year, with the online retailer projected to increase sales by nearly 14% in 2024, totaling $469 billion, according to Digital Commerce 360.

But just because Amazon is so popular doesn’t mean it always has the best deals. And even if it does offer the lowest advertised prices for some items, many stores will price match Amazon.

Here’s a look at the nine stores that will price match Amazon.

Target

If you’re shopping at Target, consider checking the price on Amazon first, as Target does price match Amazon according to their price match guarantee policy. The complete list of online competitors it will price match is available as a PDF on its website or at Guest Services. Note that you must find an identical item through Amazon to get a price match.

You have 14 days to make the request at a physical store location or over the phone for Target.com purchases, and you need proof to request the adjustment. Target also doesn’t match prices for customers residing in Hawaii and Alaska.

Best Buy

Best Buy, well-known for its price match guarantee, will match Amazon items if they are the same brand, model and color. You can price match at the time of purchase or doing the return/exchange period for that item.

Price matches for BestBuy.com purchases are handled online or over the phone, while in-store purchases can be price matched in stores. 

Lowe’s

Does Lowe’s price match Amazon’s prices? Yes, Lowe’s has a price match promise that offers customers a price match if they find an item that costs less at competitors, including Amazon.

If you find a lower price for an identical item from a qualifying retailer while shopping online, you can validate it by calling 1-877-465-6937 or by chatting with an online rep. In-store price matches can be handled by a store associate.

As an added perk, Lowe’s also includes the cost of the item, including shipping or delivery fees. Additionally, Lowe’s can only validate the price match if the original purchaser makes the request.

Ashley Furniture

Many may not know, but Ashley Furniture will price match Amazon. To qualify for a reimbursement, the product must be the same in model, SKU, brand, name and color as the item you purchased.

Additionally, the item must be in stock and available on both websites. Ashley’s in-store price guarantee says it will beat competitors by $1, though its website does not specify if Amazon is one of those online competitors, so you may want to check with your local store. 

Staples

Staples has a 100% price match guarantee for items you find in-store that are also on Amazon at a lower price. The process is simple — once you find a lower price, you can bring the proof to a Staples associate and receive a price match, but you can’t do so online or after the fact.

Bed Bath & Beyond

While Bed Bath & Beyond stores are closed, you can still shop its website and get price matches, including for some items sold at Amazon, if you join the Welcome Rewards program for $19.95 per year.

Be sure to check the price match policy at the time of your purchase, as Bed Bath & Beyond’s terms are stricter than some other sites, such as being limited to three items per month and excluding appliances and electronics. 

You can request a price match after completing an order by going into your account online, clicking on My Orders, and then if an item is eligible, it will have a clickable “Eligible for Price Match” tag, where you can then submit a request form. You need to do so within seven days of the purchase.

JC Penny

JC Penny does price match Amazon for online and in-store purchases in the continental US. You have up to 14 days from making your purchase to receive a price match. The price match guarantee does not include shipping charges.

Unless you call their customer service number, you must bring proof of the lower price on Amazon. If you are calling, the representative must verify that the price is lower on Amazon before they can complete the price match.  

Home Depot

Does Home Depot price match Amazon? Yes, Home Depot’s “Guaranteed Low Price” policy includes matching online competitor prices, including shipping costs, for HomeDepot.com purchases. In-store purchases can also be matched at the register against Amazon prices. 

Dick’s Sporting Goods

Dick’s Sporting Goods has a price match policy for customers who find an identical product match at a lower price, including from Amazon. To qualify, ensure the item is the same brand, model number, color and it is not from a third-party reseller or marketplace.

You can receive your price match in-store by bringing proof of the cheaper item, or if shopping online, you can call 1-877-846-9997.

Before you request a match, always make sure that you read each retailer’s policy and what it excludes. The stores that will price match Amazon aim to satisfy their customers, but remember that some conditions apply, such as for some sale items and those sold by third-party sellers.
