Over the years, Target has become an “everything you could need” shopping destination. However, not all Target brand items are worth your money.
Whether it’s because of quality, bad reviews or high costs, here are six Target brand items you should avoid buying.
Up&Up Sensitive Skin Body Lotion
- Price: $4.49
The four-star rating of the Up&Up sensitive skin body lotion on Target’s website isn’t bad, but a large percentage of reviewers (24%) gave the item a one star.
It was also rated poorly on Reddit, with one user saying it was “horrid.”
Shoppers complained about the chemical smell and said they missed the old formula.
Heyday Bluetooth Wireless Earbuds
- Price: $9.99
Heyday products are either loved or hated on Reddit, but these Bluetooth wireless earbuds were called “garbage,” and 24% of reviewers on Target’s website gave them a one-star rating.
Shoppers pointed out that the battery dies quickly, they have poor sound quality and they’re uncomfortable. “They are ridiculously uncomfortable and took multiple readjustments for me to kind of be able to wear them, however I have no confidence they would stay in while moving,” one shopper wrote on Target’s website.
Threshold Electric Scented Wax Melter
- Price: $20.00
Thirty-nine percent of reviewers gave this electric scented wax melter from Threshold a one-star rating and warned that it’s a potential fire hazard. According to shoppers, the switch gets hot and the bulb is too bright to look at when it’s on. Several even commented that the item should be recalled.
Everspring White Multi-Surface Floor Spray Mop
- Price: $19.99
Target shoppers said the Everspring multi-surface floor spray mop works great — until it doesn’t.
Several reviews noted that it starts leaking and the sprayer stopped working altogether. The mop handle also jams. Some customers purchased the same mop more than once and ran into the same problems.
Heyday Qi Wireless 15W Charging Puck
- Price: $27.99
The Qi wireless 15W charging puck is another poorly rated Heyday item. The most common complaint was that the item simply didn’t work. Shoppers recommended spending more money on a better brand.
Good & Gather Lavender Vanilla Light Roast Ground Coffee
- Price: $6.99
Good & Gather’s naturally flavored lavender vanilla light roast ground coffee has mixed reviews, but 28% of reviewers gave it a one-star rating. “I thought this would be great. But it is so gross. Tastes like perfume or soap — but not even lavender soap,” wrote one shopper on Target’s website.
Shoppers recommended getting the Starbucks lavender vanilla coffee instead.
