With the holiday season now in full swing, many people are taking advantage of money-saving holiday sales from their favorite retailers to complete their holiday gift shopping. However, now is also the perfect time to start thinking about some of the items you want to buy in 2025. A few consumer experts shared what could be the most popular items next year.

Pre-Owned Luxury Items
Luxury items have always been highly sought after, but they don’t fit within most people’s budgets. However, with resale websites like Poshmark becoming so popular, it’s easier than ever to purchase pre-owned luxury items for much less. For example, you could purchase a Louis Vuitton bag on Poshmark for $329. If you were to purchase this new, it would cost over $3,000.
“Shoppers love the mix of sustainability, affordability and access to iconic brands,” said Seth Gold, vice president at American Jewelry and Gold. “Plus, vintage and hard-to-find pieces make secondhand feel like a treasure hunt.”
Ninja Creami Ice Cream Machine
Just like most other things, it’s become increasingly expensive to go out for ice cream. Depending on where you live, ordering a single scoop cone could cost you $5 or more. So 2025 could be the year that people fight back against rising prices by making their own at home.
“People are loving how they can make their own ice cream from home,” said Tami Smith, co-founder at A Couple Consumers. “With a Ninja Creami, you can make regular ice cream and add your own ingredients and flavors. Or you can go healthy by making protein ice cream for a late night healthy treat. You can make anything and cater to any diet or preference.
“It’s great for singles and for the family and you can really get creative with it,” Smith added. “Although it’s been a hot item for a while now, there are always new models coming out. There are tons of Ninja Creami Facebook groups out there filled with people who share their recipes and ideas.”
Smart Clothing
We’re in the middle of a smart wearables boom where watches and other gadgets can help you track everything from your blood oxygen levels to your fertility cycle and even understand if you’re in a physical emergency. However, the next trend that you might start buying into for 2025 could be smart clothing.
“Smart clothing will change the course of our interaction with our wardrobe,” said Fameez Haroon, co-founder at OTAA. “There is so much predicted growth around this area and it will be attributed to the fact that people are becoming more health-conscious. There will be an advantage of wearing fitness-oriented apparel such as heated jackets or shirts engineered for tracking fitness.
“In just a few years, devices will not merely record the steps or heart rate of the user, but rather be able to monitor stress levels and possible risk factors that can lead to troublesome health conditions. These devices will assume an important position in preventing various ailments,” Haroon added.
Smart Home Technology
It seems like everyone today is using a video doorbell and more and more people are adding things like smart smoke alarms and security systems. As our desire to create more connected, smart homes grows, so will the sales of smart home technology.
“I expect, with how sophisticated AI is becoming, that smart home technology will be one of the most in-demand products next year,” said Brandon Hartman, founder of BeyWarehouse.
“There are likely going to be more features and new additions that make having smart home devices more appealing to the masses,” he added, “such as enhanced adaptive learning based on user behavior and peak demand management where AI predicts peak usage time so it can adjust consumption accordingly to avoid high utility bills.”
