To see what’s cheaper, GOBankingRates carefully reviewed Dollar Tree’s Valentine’s Day inventory and price matched these items to comparable or same name-brand items for sale on Walmart’s website.

Gifting your sweetheart a chocolate-scented stuffed bear? Shop one of the four assorted bears available from the Fuzzy Friends brand at Dollar Tree for just $1.25 each.

At Walmart, Way To Celebrate’s chocolate-scented plush bears cost a whopping $14.98 each. For that price, you could buy 11 Fuzzy Friends bears!

Warheads gummy hearts are the perfect sweet treat for anyone who loves sour candy. Each 3-ounce box is loaded with heart-shaped candies in black cherry, blue raspberry and watermelon flavors. 

Walmart carries the same sour candy brand for $3.99, but that’s also its sale price. This 2-ounce heart-shaped box of Warheads regularly retails for $8 online.

• Price: $3

Decorate offices, classrooms and common areas without spending a ton of money with Dollar Tree’s Valentine foam garlands. Each garland measures 70.87 inches and is available in two glitter designs. A comparable Valentine’s Day heart garland from the Way To Celebrate brand costs $7.44 online at Walmart.

Add a few Valentine’s Day plastic champagne flutes to your shopping cart for an inexpensive touch to a romantic dinner. These flutes are made of plastic so you don’t have to worry about them breaking and come in red, pink and white.

GOBankingRates found a similar set of Valentine’s Day plastic champagne flutes for sale at Walmart, but they come in a set of 12 for $22.49. If you know you don’t need that many glasses, it’s much cheaper to buy them individually at Dollar Tree.

Celebrating Galentine’s Day with your besties and need some fun party favors? Stock up on Valentine’s Day stemless cups to pass out and serve up your favorite cocktails or mocktails in. Similar stemless glasses from the Way To Celebrate brand cost $2.48 each, saving you $1.23.

Fill your kitchen with love when you buy this set of two Valentine’s Day kitchen towels. 

A similar set of two Valentine’s Day-themed kitchen towels for sale at Walmart will set you back $8.48. For that price, Dollar Tree shoppers could purchase upwards to six sets of towels.

It’s definitely cheaper to snag heart-shaped plush pillows at Dollar Tree compared to Walmart. 

Heart-shaped pillows retail for $7.98 online at Walmart compared to $5 at Dollar Tree. There’s also a wider range of colors and sweet sentiments to shop, with five options to choose from.

We were pleasantly surprised by how much cheaper Valentine’s Day classroom cards are at Dollar Tree. The discount retailer carries a selection of Disney and Marvel character-themed cards in sets of 48 with heart seals included for just $1.25. 

GOBankingRates did some digging on Walmart’s website and found character cards for Moana, Frozen and the Avengers are $2.98 each with varying Valentine card counts. The Frozen set, for example, comes with 16 cards while the Moana set comes with 32 cards. Still, this means spending more money for fewer Valentines than what you’d receive at Dollar Tree.
