Most consumers buy warehouse club memberships to load up on everyday household items and save on bulk purchases, but that’s not their only purpose. You can also buy plenty of other products – including electronics. That’s the case at Sam’s Club, the Walmart subsidiary that ranks as the nation’s No. 2 warehouse club.
Sam’s Club has nearly 600 stores across the U.S. and Puerto Rico and also has locations in Mexico and China. Among warehouse clubs, only Costco is bigger, with more than 870 locations globally, according to the Bluebook website.
Sam’s is the more affordable option between those two warehouse clubs – for now. Sam’s Club costs $50 per year for a Club membership and $110 per year for a Plus membership. Plus, it offers additional perks like free shipping, free curbside pickup, pharmacy savings and optical savings.
Costco costs $60 per year for the Gold Star membership and $120 per year for the Executive membership. The Costco Executive membership offers similar perks to Plus, like Costco service discounts and an annual 2% reward.
Sam’s Club last increased its membership prices in 2022, when it hiked Club memberships by $5 and Plus memberships by $10. It was the first Club membership increase in nine years, and the only Plus-level increase since its introduction in 1999. Based on Sam’s Club’s history, it could be many years before membership prices rise again.
If you’re a Sam’s Club member and are on the lookout for electronics, here are the five best new electronics promoted on its website.
