Trusted by Millions of Readers
At first glance, these 11 Dollar Tree products look pretty normal. They’re affordably priced and have enough positive reviews to maintain an overall rating of 4 stars online. Look a little closer, however, and you’ll notice there are tiny critiques sprinkled in about how each item could be a little bit better.
What issues could customers have with garden planters, soap and pens (to name a few products)? Keep reading to find out.

Splash-N-Swim Castle-Shaped Pail with Handle
- Price: $1.75
The majority of reviews for the castle-shaped pail are positive, with one exception. Even though the pail has a handle, reviewer Sandymandy writes that they wish it came with a shovel.
Essentials Round Wire Baskets
- Price: $1.50
Most Dollar Tree shoppers are pleased with these round wire baskets, complimenting how expensive they look and how many essentials they can hold.
But Kirbii gave it a four-star review and expressed irritation about the basket’s ability to hold very small things. “I use this basket for my skincare things and a lot of the times things fall out.”
Garden Collection Planter With Hook
- Price: $1.50
Reviewer Anking described the Garden Collection planters with hooks as “almost perfect” in a four-star review.
Their chief complaint? Some of the terra cotta colored pots have started fading after hanging for several weeks in the greenhouse.
B Pure Nourishing Avocado Hand and Nail Gloves
- Price: $1.25
While many shoppers praise B Pure’s avocado hand and nail gloves for healing dry and chapped hands, not everyone is a fan. The biggest shared grievance in the negative reviews was that the gloves left hands a little sticky after wearing them.
Assured Cotton Balls
- Price: $1.25
Is it possible to have beef with a 100-count bag of cheap cotton balls?
The answer is yes for one Dollar Tree shopper. In a two-star review, beachgurl complained that the bag and the cotton balls inside are simply too small for arts and crafts purposes.
Zest Lush Paradise Soap Bars
- Price: $1.25
An anonymous reviewer’s biggest problem with Zest’s lush paradise soap bars is less about the product itself and more about the item’s… name.
“The scent is nice but I would not refer to it as paradise,” they wrote in a four-star review.
B Pure Rose Oil Lip Balm
- Price: $1.25
Out of the 36 reviews for B Pure’s rose oil lip balm, 34 gave it five stars while two were on the fence.
Reviewer Neocal wasn’t a fan of how often it felt the lip balm needed to be reapplied. Meanwhile, Vicki Lynn gave it four stars and cited the product as being more marketed towards teens and not necessarily adult women.
Cello Superglide Fashion Pens
- Price: $1.25
It’s not uncommon to see complaints about pens for sale at Dollar Tree. The Cello superglide pens were negatively dinged by one reviewer for leaking ink after only being used a couple of times.
Crafter’s Square Stretch Lace
- Price: $1.25
According to reviewer sleepy turtle, Dollar Tree used to carry Crafter’s Square stretch lace in more colors.
Now they’re down to one color assortment — and the reviewer would like them to carry more options again.
Premier Just Chenille Light Blue Polyester Yarn
- Price: $1.25
It’s pretty rare to find anyone complaining about Premier’s Just Chenille yarn, so we were curious about why one reviewer gave it four stars instead of five.
Their review noted that while the yarn is good quality, it has a tendency to “shed like crazy.”
Lil Dutch Maid Iced Oatmeal Cookies
- Price: $1.25
The single negative review for Lil Dutch Maid iced oatmeal cookies cited two major issues with the cookies. The cookies were “too crunchy” and there “wasn’t enough icing.”
