Costco members can find savings both big and small at the warehouse club, with discounts on everyday pantry items and major appliances alike. Costco sells many brand-name appliances at lower prices than you’ll find elsewhere, and often offers extended warranties as well, so it’s usually a smart idea to buy your appliances at the warehouse store when you can — especially if you’re in the market for certain types of appliances.

If your due to replace or upgrade any appliances, these are the ones you should definitely consider buying at Costco.

Freezers

A standalone freezer can be a savvy purchase for Costco shoppers who like to buy foods in bulk — and the warehouse club is a great place to get one.

“I’ve been recommending their upright freezers to a lot of customers, especially families with young kids or folks who do bulk cooking,” said Daniel Vasilevski, owner and director of Pro Electrical, which provides local electrician services. “The one I picked up last year was a Hisense, priced about $150 less than what the major retailers had it for. It came with a two-year warranty plus Costco’s satisfaction guarantee, which gives you breathing room that most stores won’t match.”

Dishwashers

Dishwashers are another appliance that’s usually best to buy at Costco.

“I installed a KitchenAid unit from Costco in a rental property I manage,” Vasilevski said. “It came bundled with a manufacturer’s rebate and an extended service plan. Most suppliers tack that on as an extra cost.”

Not only was Vasilevski a fan of the warranty, but the machine itself was also of great quality.

“The tenant mentioned how quiet it ran compared to the older Westinghouse we pulled out, and that feedback matters when you’re trying to keep good tenants happy,” he said.

Microwaves

Costco sells a number of brand-name microwaves and also provides customer support if you have any issues.

“I’ve set up a few job site kitchens with Panasonic and Breville models from there,” Vasilevski said. “The pricing is competitive, but what I value most is knowing that if there’s an issue, I won’t have to chase someone through endless phone menus. Costco sorts it straight away. That kind of backup matters when your days are already packed.”
