Patriots’ Day is celebrated on Monday, April 21, 2025, and commemorates the battle that led to the birth of a new nation. It is celebrated each year on the third Monday of April to commemorate April 19, 1775, the day the battles of Lexington and Concord began and the American Revolution officially started.

Because it is not a federal holiday, some may ask, “Are banks open on Patriots’ Day?” The answer may depend on where you live. Most banks will be open on Patriots’ Day, but Massachusetts and Maine observe this day as a state holiday. People in those states may want to call to see if their banks are open.
