Even though Dollar Tree has had to raise its flagship price to $1.25, there are still plenty of bargains to be had at this mega discount store. Generally, household items, health & beauty products and party supplies will be found at a deep discount compared to department or specialty stores.
So with tariffs threatening your budget and grocery bill at every turn, it may be time to stock up on some essentials without paying more than you should. For example, here are seven items that are always cheaper at Dollar Tree.
Hair Accessories
Bargain lovers with long hair love buying Dollar Tree accessories designed to pin or tie up their locks. For just $1.25, you can get 20 hair ties, three headbands or two barrettes. You can also find great deals on brushes and combs, shampoo and even hair color for both men and women.
Gift Wrap
Have you ever felt like you spend more on gift wrap than on the actual gifts? Gift bags, tissue paper, wrapping paper and bows can really put a dent in your budget if you buy them at the drugstore or card shop. At Dollar Tree, however, you can get three gift bags, 25 sheets of colored tissue paper or two jumbo glittery bows — each for just $1.25.

First Aid Supplies
First aid supplies are important to have in case of an emergency, but they can often go unused. While it makes sense to keep them on hand, there’s no reason to pay for expensive name brands. Pick up a portable first aid kit for the car, two ice bags, a 10-pack of exam gloves, triple antibiotic ointment and many more supplies at Dollar Tree for $1.25 each.
Sticky Notes
The ubiquitous sticky note has gone from the office to the home to the classroom. Dollar Tree has deals on all colors, shapes and sizes of sticky notes, from classic yellow 3 x 3 squares to assorted pastel colors, to notes shaped like hearts and stars.
Paper Plates, Plastic Cups
Whether you’re hosting a picnic in the park for two or a backyard family reunion for 50 people, you don’t want to blow your whole budget on disposable cups and plates. Head to Dollar Tree for a 16-pack of 16-ounce red party cups, a 20-pack of 16-ounce insulated beverage cups or 22 mini 2-ounce red Solo cups for just $1.25. Plain white paper plates are $1.25 for 40, or choose plastic plates in a package of six for the same price. Â
Toothbrushes and Toothpaste
Some Dollar Tree items are ‘generic’ forms of national brands, so you need to verify that the quality is equivalent. But when it comes to toothpaste, you can find brands like Colgate, Crest, UltraBrite and more. Some products are travel sizes, which, at $1.25, is still a better deal than the drugstore, but you can get a 5-ounce tube of Colgate Cavity Protection for that low price.
As with toothpaste, you can get generic toothbrushes in packs of two or three for $1.25, or you can get a single Colgate brand brush for that price. Either way, toothbrushes at Dollar Tree are a bargain.
Light Bulbs
Here’s a great idea — light bulbs are one of those items that most consumers buy infrequently, so you may not notice the price creeping up. However, you should always buy them at Dollar Tree for this very reason. It sells LED bulbs, nightlights, flashlights, tap lights and more for far less than department stores.
