Chase offers two ways to access your account: through the Chase website on desktop or through the Chase mobile app. Both are quick to set up and give you full access to your account anytime, anywhere.

How Do You Log In to Chase Online?

Head to the Chase homepage and enter your username and password in the sign-in field on the right side of the page. If you’re on a personal device and a private network, you can check “Remember me” to save your login for next time. Avoid using this option on shared computers or public Wi-Fi — it puts your account at risk.

How Do You Log In to the Chase Mobile App?

The Chase mobile app is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Before using the app for the first time, set up your online banking login through a desktop or tablet.

Once that’s done:

  • Download and open the Chase app
  • Enter your username and password
  • Tap “Request an Identification Code”
  • Choose to receive the code by text, email, or phone call
  • Enter the code to complete the login

From the app, you can deposit checks, transfer money, make payments, and find nearby Chase branches.

How Do You Recover a Forgotten Chase Username or Password?

On the Chase homepage, click “Forgot username/password?” beneath the sign-in button. From there:

  • To reset your password, follow the prompts after clicking the link — Chase will guide you through the reset process.
  • To recover your username, you’ll need to provide your Social Security number or tax ID number along with your account type. Chase will help you retrieve your username once your identity is verified.

What Do You Do if Your Chase Account Is Locked?

If you enter your login credentials incorrectly too many times, Chase will temporarily lock your account for security. You can wait 24 hours and try again, or contact Chase customer service directly to regain access sooner.

How Does Chase Verify Your Identity on a New Device?

When you log in from a new device or location for the first time, Chase will ask you to verify your identity. You’ll receive a one-time security code via text, email, or phone call. Enter the code to confirm it’s you and complete the login.

If you ever receive an alert about an unrecognized login, change your password immediately.

Best Practices for Secure Chase Online Banking

Keeping your account safe is just as important as accessing it. A few habits worth building:

  • Avoid public Wi-Fi. Even with a VPN, public networks can expose your data. Do your banking on a secured, private connection whenever possible.
  • Enable two-factor authentication. This adds a second verification step each time you log in, making it much harder for anyone else to access your account.
  • Always log out on shared devices. If you use a shared computer or phone, log out completely after every session to prevent unauthorized access.
