American Express National Bank is an online bank with no branch locations. Due to this, it doesn’t keep normal hours the way traditional banks do. You can access your account online at any time, regardless of the day.

American Express doesn’t close on the federal holidays that other banks observe. That includes federal holidays, which means you’ll be able to carry on banking as normal.

It’s worth noting, however, that any online banking activity that happens on federal or bank holidays will likely take a day or two to post. You’ll still be able to access ATMs and American Express customer support in case you run into any trouble.
How To Bank With American Express After Business Hours
Since there are no branches, you don’t need to worry about after-hours access. American Express hours are effectively 24/7, with full functionality via online and mobile banking.
One thing to keep in mind: American Express notes that for transferring funds, business days are considered to be Monday through Friday. Any transfers done after 7 p.m. EST will be processed the next business day, excluding holidays.
